- 64k Windows spiral staircase by kaleido [web]
- Factory, you're talking out of your arse!! The intro *is* under 64k.. so they included the crt, big deal? the only reason for that is because they have used Visual C++.NET for development and most people won't have the latest runtime dll's yet.. there aren't many 64k's nowadays that don't use the old msvcrt.dll to trim the .exe size down (without having to drop default libs completely or roll their own crt) since msvcrt.dll comes with Windows anyway.. so its safe to use the old /MD instead of /ML in your linker settings without having to distro the DLL.. dumbass ;)
Anyway.. the intro itself.. well.. apart from the obvious bug in first effect.. and the intro being short.. its a nice intro.. it was worth the download.. but short of a thumbs up.. sorry.
just my 2p :)

- Sorry to all who experienced clicking/crackling..After speaking with Firelight, I've updated the chippack so it now auto-adjusts the volume.. I had no clue .IT had its own volume and FMOD handled it.. and yeah, I was overriding it :P but all fixed now.. erhm, just got to get CoaX to upload the updated zip file. :-)

- Xero, you're suppose to try it out before you comment on it! but nevermind..
Vhiiula, I should of used BASS, FMOD seemed fine on my setup, well, on my Aureal card.. but I have sneaky suspictions it crackles on Soundblasters? the tunes more or less played great here.. I never experienced any crackling at all.. oh well.. next time I'll use BASS.. I guess.. but someone will still complain. :)
UI being too big.. it probably looks too big on lower resolutions.. we did initially think it might be too big.. but well.. its nice to look at anyway! remember, u can minimize it to your systray and it'll play while you IRC. ;)
As for comments on the music, theres a lot of old tunes there, some don't even sound like proper chips.. Vim even sneaked a vocal sample in the latest tunes he did for us! These tunes had been on my hdd a long time.. and needed releasing.. all in all.. its a nice pack.. there is some blinding tunes there.. but as everything else in existance, it may not appeal to all, we accept this. :)
Thanks for all the positive comments.. glad most of you like it. :)

- demo Gameboy Advance lollipoop by The Slaphappy Ninja Robots
- Indeed its one of the few scene demos on GBA. There is [sadly] a very small GBA demoscene although the hobbyist scene is growing daily.. they don't know of the fantastic demoscene that exists today. I do hope this demo encourages people to make proper demos on GBA.. its a powerful yet easy device to program for. Anyway, my main reason for replying was to say, the music was actually good in this production, I forgot to mention the music, shame on me. :) But anyway, hope the authors didn't think I was being too harsh, afterall the demo was unfinished like they mentioned in the .nfo file, but I do hope they get back to basics and produce demos that we can all treasure for years to come.

- The voxel scene was nice but the demo as a whole is below average. Most of the effects were ugly, like the feedback and tunnel. The MD2 scene looked stupid, it was a domb idea to put this on the GBA due to the size of the screen. The demo itself has been slapped together, theres no transitions, or flow. It abruptly finishes with a simple plasma which shouldn't of even been in the demo. Not a bad production.. but not a clear winner in my eyes. a team of 2 coders, a musician and artist can do a lot better in 3 months. Maybe your next effort will be more deserving the previous comments.
