- tmb: It works fine on my Vista, as well as that of some other guys (yes, I even did a testing round before releasing this thing). Have you installed a DX9 runtime for those silly D3DX dlls? They don't all come with vista out of the box.
And yeah, the rumours on the internets seem to be right. - isokadded on the 2007-05-03 22:18:46

- This is a collection pack of the 7 4ks of the 'ikum' series. While obviously sporting a smaller executable than the sum of its parts, some additional features are provided, in particular compatibility with Vista and wide screens. Hope you enjoyed the trip.

- 4k ZX-81 rezurrection by Calodox
- viznut: As far as I know, this is the first demo for the unexpanded ZX81, yeah. I actually know only one other multipart demo (in the sense of a program showing a series of effects, rather than illustrating one single technical stunt); it is 25th anniversary by Bodo Wenzel (http://members.fortunecity.de/bodo4all/zx/25thanni.htm#).
For the sound, the ZX81 actually has the audio and video outputs wired together - the black and white stripes shown on TV are the audio signal :-) It is therefore highly unlikely that we'll ever see something that is both good-looking and good-sounding at the same time. - isokadded on the 2006-10-29 15:14:48

- Hehehe... This is going to be amusing... Maybe there'll be a final-final-version then :-) I'm not overly happy with the text myself, but it was a perfect way for filling out the 300-odd bytes I optimized out of this thing (other than the new deferred rendering shader, of course). So I have quite a few potential bytes in there currently occupied by the text - I'll just have to find some better idea for filling them. Stay tuned...

- The final version in here! This one should also work on nvidia cards, although I do not have the hardware to test it.

- Sorry for releasing this thing in its current state - it only saw 2-3 days worth of development on it. As soon as I have some time a final version will come, with a bit more of everything. This 4k was not even size-optimized yet, everything is still written in C :-(
A known limitation of this version is that it will not run on nVidia cards, thanks to nV not supporting single-channel 16-bit floating point render targets. At least it's an easy thing to correct - just waste some more bandwidth on a 32-bit fp target even though it's really not necessary. But look on the bright side - at least it does not use any of those pesky D3DX libraries :-) - isokadded on the 2006-04-19 14:26:45
- 4k Windows synchroplastikum by Calodox
- I took a debugger to the kkapture source code in order to figure out why it was unable to capture this thing, and produced a fixed version. The video has been uploaded to scene.org. Should be available here soon :)

- shifter: I didn't have any sound on your box - so it was only half the 4k running ;-) But I guess that's my fault for not plugging in any headphones.

- Faster version coming soon... Keep your eyes on this spot (or on scene.org, I've uploaded it there and am just waiting for it to show up in the proper location). And thanks for all the feedback (in particular the beer at tUm :-).
And I have the worst slideshow machine: Celeron 1300 with a low-end 9600 - I actually never saw the 4k running properly before it came up on the bigscreen! So the performance was basically some guesswork, trying to extrapolate from my crap stuff to the X800 in the compo machine... - isokadded on the 2006-01-04 19:35:17
