• I like the music and the atmosphere, it almost makes me miss the girl...
  
  Before the party the main reaction among my friends was "WTF?! A windows compo? Who cares?". During the party we forgot about the compo and then they annouced that the windows-compo would begin soon, it has one entry - everybody laughs.
  
  The demo is started on the mainscreen and we see a windows hourglass and everybody laughs and applaudes. Then the demo starts, with that eerie music and we are silent. Only one demo for the compo, but it was a nice demo.

• skate: the idea with php demos has always been using php only and not relying on any other rendering technology like javascript.
  
  p01: php demoscene humor is like this.
  
  The PHP demoscene was founded more or less at deadline (2003) and second deadline party (deadline reloaded same year) had dedicated php democompo.
  
  Cnackers, Myself, Jumalauta, Even and others that frequented these parties had some fun discussions about this.
  
  Also check out the video at ftp://ftp.pseudohacker.org/pub/demoscene/parties/2003/deadline/video/ILM_deadline_20030315_-_phaadi.mpg (in Swedish though) where Phaadi is drunk and challenges FLT in making a PHP demo (neither has yet to do a PHP demo).
  
  In short - it is a very local scene, which few people understand and everyone complains all the time about the lack of Ajax. (Much like the "software rendered" vs. "GPU rendered" bitching on the PC scene many years ago.
