- technology changes and we still don't know how to show something better.. the only difference is that this one works flawlessly on GTX... now we need RTX just to satisfy Vulkan's need and next gen programmers' inefficiencies to fill the gap we don't have such synergy between coders and designers in numbers... anymore...

- great story behind the prod Navis. I was sure this was not coded randomly but well thought out.

I saw IQ's tutorial shaders on ST like that, not impressive as 64kB
* 4.9kB
* you didn't.
Hey, aren't you a coder yourself? Feelsbad.frag
4.9kB changes a lot.. as most I didn't care yet to launch anything on my computer so just relied on the stream. My fault.
Yours is 5kB, bike is 8kB... why the heck orgs didn't merge 4k up to 16kB together... that would be much more... interesting than putting you all into 64kB bucket loud and clear... - isokadded on the 2024-10-08 10:31:20

At the same time, it fascinates me how you quickly you go from an assumption (name voting) to declaring it as reality. Along the way disputing every visitors' ability to make up their own minds. And punish us for a responsibility we did not even have. Or accuse us of intentional manipulation.
Perhaps too harsh in my initial comment. Not meaning manipulation, I'd not go that far, more about kind-of-known sceners' habits in general.
Straightforwardness is not something that brings me friends, quickly. Apologies if that hurt you too much.
Not my cup of tea, definitively. Just expressed my surprise it won the audience's hearts as top.. definitively beyond my understanding looking at some other prods in the compo.
Congratulations for the winning of course. - isokadded on the 2024-10-08 10:29:38

- My opinion is of course subjective, I believe everybody has a right for a constructive feedback and criticism as well. My point is though that I see some advanced demo scene technology that is used for Social Responsibility and architectural vision related communication presented visually as motion graphics..
I miss demo as defined by demo scene in its full abstraction. That's all.
I'm pretty sure message is important for locals who must look at all that rubbish every day. Not surprised there are thanks flying for that... I see some polished graphics there... some concepts that could be used in a proper demo scene product that is as best as it can keep itself far away from the real world. That's my personal vision of demo scene today, thus the opinion.

- I was thinking... yeah.. ok but not that strong as previous 64k shown in the compo, only to realize that this is 8kB not 64kB. It should go one up together with the current 2nd place if only Farbed-brush didn't colorize peoples' mind with some tricked ecstasy drug during the compo.

- It's definitively less polished than the one on Xenium. Albeit I know it was made in a hurry, it doesn't look as rushed never the less. It continually shows the power of the engine and the toolkit some of us in the PL demoscene know and saw already. Productivity is already a strong feature built into it.
But it's also safe and it seems that Deadline audience didn't appreciate safety that much as some other products that experimented less with tech, more with a message won here over safe demos done by people/group we all already know what they are capable of (same argument could be given to MFX this year).
I'd give it of of the top 3 positions, somehow together with Gaspode and ASD as my personal opinion. - rulezadded on the 2024-10-07 10:08:00
