what is perhaps sad about this is that it shows up many "coders trying to design" like myself for what we are: coders, covering up our lack of design abilities with technology, when we should have just dialed back and made proper use of what was already sat in front of us (if only we could).
Now that discussion again. it's even worse than my argument. This implies that things are set in stone: I will never be able to write a decent raymarcher. You would never be able to nicely balance pace and concept. However, extrapolating from your last releases your design skill develop with scary speed. (Some is sadly not true for my understanding for compute shaders).
@tomkh: Sorry about my earlier comment. This is was layover in Hearthrow does to you.
@navis: So I can expect this for revision?! Now you have me on the hook! - isokadded on the 2015-03-24 11:23:42

the demo manages to take you away for some minutes ...at work now and totally forgot about this while i was watching the demo...
This quote makes my day.
@tomkh: The complains about the triangles just make me smile. If you think demoscene is only about "technical depth", well that's a perfectly valid point of view. If you had any track-record, I might even agree. I'm personally more into the diversity of the scene. If a demo actually provokes Navis into writting any comment, the mission is almost accomplished. I'm really looking forward to his upcoming stuff.
And of course I'm also looking forward to your upcoming release. Maybe we can have a beer at revision and you can show me, what you're working on. :-) - isokadded on the 2015-03-23 16:10:42

The concept is sooo cool. I would love if the photons would pick up surface colors and distribute like with a global illumination algorithm. - rulezadded on the 2015-03-20 20:33:51

- Just to clarify: I didn't do any design on that one. Alex is to blame.

- demo Windows Engine by Epoch [web]
- Sooo cool! Windows decided to install necessary system updates while it was running, and its pitiless attempts to get back to the original screen resolution matched the mood perfectly. Almost like in Szamár Madár.
A nice variation of Gantz Graf, indeed. It really wants me to play with feedback stuff again. - rulezadded on the 2015-02-15 18:11:16

- Happy new year. That's a super nice reception! I should have payed a bit more attention to some details and transitions. But I ran out of energy and time. Especially the transition between b/w and color drives me nuts. But of course I'm happy that people like a it as it is. I even got some CDCs! Maybe I will fix some details and transitions and make a final.
@okkie - thanks
@saga musix: interesting. what's your card/version?
@revival: bah, no reasons for that :-)
@zavie: thanks. I will increase the polycount in the potential final version
@noby: I get your point about " the visual equivalent of acrobatics". But I already struggled with this. I initial wanted it to be more like "elemental square garden" but it's easier said than done.
@garg: The youtube capture has a couple of glitches (it seems to be a couple of frames out of sync a there are these annoying "z" glitches) at the beginning. No idea, where they come from. Maybe, I will re-render the thing, once I have a proper idea for this color transition.
@smash: I completely get your point. Esp. the crappy motion blur is super annoying. I couldn't really on my coders to help me out this time. I also had a pretty cool idea for a transition that might have brought it together, but well... reality sucks.
@rez: thanks
@salinga: Of course. although I avoided watching "masagin" because I was was afraid if getting too close. References are here: http://www.pinterest.com/pixtur/we-follow/
@bobic: thanks. That's quite an comparison...
@reptile: well. completely right. Considering that it's only resources are an mp3 and 2 b/w images. Could have been a 64k. But than again... I have not enough time anymore for that playfield.
@psenough: NOOO. Do it. It's fun. And there will never be enough demos.
@p01: cool! I missed the bees&bombs while I was looking for references. Nice stuff!
@holid: Well. I wasn't thinking about Bypass. But sure enough this is one of my all-time favorites - isokadded on the 2015-01-03 19:45:38

- demo Windows Meadow
- Very cool effect. Although the idea is also well executed, i have the feeling that the meadow and the circular theatre around it, could be better connected.
