• It would theoretically be possible to port over to Windows or X11 with the transparency intact, but until they get their new rendering systems running, it would be a lot of work.
  
  As for the desktop, it's possible to use it as an OpenGL target surface on OS X. There's a utility available to run accelerated screensavers on the desktop.
