- The first kaleidoscope effect is OK. The rest is incredibly meh, especially the music (which sounds like a run-off-the-mill ProTracker mod from the 90s).

- A great example how artwork and direction can lift a demo immensely. Having the same lowpoly 3D meshes rotate around on a black screen would be really boring, but add some animated parallax layers and a story-ish, and it works great. The music doesn't hurt either. Some of the scenes stay for a tiny bit too long, but otherwise great stuff on a fairly uncommon platform (though what Korvkiosken said, of course).

- The Shadertoy is somewhat misleading, because it uses bilinear sampling, which causes the blurriness. If you precalc the filtered versions anyway (e.g. at a half-pixel offset?), you can use a more expensive filter that's not as bad.

- What phoenix said. TBH the end result feels a bit more like “someone playing 2nd Reality with cardboard models and flipbooks” than an actual attempt at recreating the effects? Perhaps that's impossible, but then again, perhaps not every platform needs their remake.

- Nice concept and execution, lots of content and high rendering quality. But I was coming to say what seemingly Zavie also said: It's really jarring to have very bright light orbs so visible in the screen that… don't emit light in any visible way? But cast shadows?
