30 years ago CiH was keenly awaiting his first computer of any shape or form for that forthcoming Xmas which happened to be a ZX81. The magazines of the day were still talking about the 'Acorn Proton' in breathless tones at the time, rather than the BBC Micro that it subsequently became :-)
If anyone is doing a commemorative demo for the Beeb, they should do it in the manner of how the original machine came to market, a big announcement with rave reviews followed by going on to a six-month plus waiting list because there was a huge shortage of the things for various reasons ;-)
