Demos and intros worth watching with NVidia`s 3D Vision glasses?
category: general [glöplog]
Hello Scene,
I recently bought an NVidia "3D Vision" kit with shutter glasses. I found that many demos and intros don't work well with it for various reasons, but there are some which look really amazing! Here's a short list of the good ones I found so far:
- Farbrausch "fr-019 Poem to a Horse":
Works well with the exception of a few scenes.
Reduce the depth amount a bit for the last scene!
- TBC and rgba "Elevated":
Just amazing! But you have to turn the depth down to a minimum if you don't want your eyes to fall out
- Farbrausch "fr-062 The Cube":
Looks great! There's one scene though where the perspective is way too strong, but apart from that, thumps up!
- TBC and Loonies "Atrium":
My favourite in 3D right now! Works flawlessly
Please add to the list if you know of other demos or intros that work well with the 3D Vision glasses!
Thanks!
Yaka

h264 720p or it didn't happen
I had some of the old ones and really loved the effect of them. Unfortunately lack of driver support rendered them quite useless in later years. I have thought about buying some of the new ones, but only if they take off and are widely supported.
The best demos I saw through 3d glasses were Don Quixote and Relais, though they're a bit dated now.
Have you tried playing Arkham Asylum with them yet? I'm sure that will look incredible.

tried my luck a couple of years ago with one of these with "we cell" and it was really a great experience!
I also got the nvidia 3d vision glasses.
Too bad they only work with demos done in Direct3D :(
Here's some more demos that work well with them:
Farbrausch - fr-025: the.popular.demo
Works amazingly well!
United Force & Digital Dynamite - The golden path
Not all scenes work well, but certainly worth watching.

The most common issue, back a decade ago or so (when nvidia first released that technology) I played with this, is that people render their 2d stuff at weird z values. If positioned correctly (can't remember where, sorry), 2d stuff is at the "surface" of the display.
Some demos looked really cool, with the 2d stuff creating kind of like a dirty display with some 3d effects going on in the background, etc.

I remember this one worked quite well back in the day, with my gf2ultra and shutterglasses... :)
