ok, i thought i'd start a general topic about how people did things and see if we get responses. i thought i'd give it a general name so anyone at anytime can come here and ask how did they do it and get some answers to whatever topic they are trying to figure out.
well the first one i have comes from a movie. "The Cell". to people who have watched this. how do you think they did the scene where they cut up the horse and split it apart and it's heart was beating in the mess there? just wondering. i know there are people are good at cg. but, that looks pretty damn real. so, how did they do it?

Cg or Animatronics. It looks fairly basic, really.
are they any references to these things that i could see? to me. i'm a normal human being. so, something like that seems beyond my mental comprehension.
this shot is all CG using mental ray (AFAIK)
Yeah, for that time it was a pretty impressive cg shot. It was mentioned a lot in interviews and features.
