Hahahahaha :D
Surely you are joking?
Surely you are joking?
If somebody pays for my trip, I'm there. I'd be happy to help with any organizing tasks concerning demoscene-related things. Especially compo-related things.
I'm not even joking.

TOO LATE! THIS THREAD WAS CRACKED BY NiNJA GEFILUS 1986 A.D.

tytöt jopa.
Eric? From the valves?
dilvie: i feel compelled to chime in and also state that you are over-hyping this, and the fact that 2500+ people might attend is not at all compelling.
i live about 50 miles from san jose, california, so i'll stick with nvscene for this year. unfortunately, my opportunities to attend breakpoint or blockparty this year have passed.
going to SLC isn't appealing to me unless a large number of my demoscene friends will be there, or some other very compelling reason to go to SLC exists. neither of those scenarios seem likely.

gd: That's unfortunate. I'd love to see you here. I can't make it out to nvscene, unfortunately. I have some obligations here to deal with. It's going on about the same time as a nightlife photography exhibit I'm hosting here. );
I just hired a pair of interns to help me manage my time, so hopefully I'll get some stuff related to SparkArts online soon. The event is in October... I think it's a little early to declare it dead.
I'm still looking for speakers from the demoscene to come discuss their craft, and yes, I did offer to pay expenses...

If you are serious about this, AND you are talking about european demosceners, then I think you should formalize your commitment and put it up somewhere that is not the Pouet BBS to gauge response. Give people a direct line of communication with you.
im co-organizing demoscene compo in an animation film festival in october otherwise you'd be getting an email from me about this dilvie.
So how's this going, anyway?
i hope it's not EPIC FAIL because it seems biggest demoparty was nvision and it was succesfull
actually, if you go by the number of people watching the compos, or the number of native sceners in attendance, or native groups, Blockparty was much bigger. This is very interesting to me personally, there's an angle of sincerity and organic growth there.
Hey, the demoparty's coming up! Check out those sceners.
c'mon it's somehow related because odd remixed jackal & hyde (cyberian knights) music for their demo "world domination" :D i would like to see adam f and jackal & hyde live tho!
I apparently was wrong, because SparkArts happened on November 21-22.

I know, ultimately he doesn't care and obviously wasn't serious about it, but Dilvie's overhyping of SparkArts, especially in the face of a millions-invested customer electronics show/demoparty like NVscene and our own effort over in Cleveland, was needlessly damaging to a north american scene, making us look like hype-filled charlatans. I'd really like to get away from that, if possible.

No worries. Europeans never generalize people from USA.
