thec: This puzzle is about logics. You need no formula to solve it, you just have to think... but you do have to know the concept of angles, vectors and length of a vector, that's true.
Maths = logic. Though regardless, it's nothing more complicated than a ray reflecting off a sphere. It's a simple deterministic thing, but for some reason, solving for the point of reflection rather than the outgoing vector is really hard.

Logic is a field of math. Suposedly if you're a really good mathematician you can express your thoughts in mathematical language... you've got if's in math, and loops... and labels :D
