Diskmag articles on social/cultural impact of PET/VIC20/C64
category: general [glöplog]
I have to write an essay on someone who's done something pioneering in computing and I've chose to write about Jack Tramiel. Can anyone point me in the direction of any good diskmag articles or literature about the cultural and social impact of the introduction of the PET/VIC20/C64? I already have a lot of information about the technological innovations of Commodore but I'm more looking for annecdotal pieces about how those machines changed people's lives. Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Pete

Where on earth did you find that Hollowman?
parapete, you definetely should take "freax" as a source, there are quite some passages about jack tremiel.
brillant picture :)
also take a look at: http://www.kameli.net/demoresearch/bibliography.php
why not include CPC too ?
What did Jack Tramiel have to do with the CPC?
That link is interesting!
The picture is teh LOLLERS ;)
As for CPC, I once asked the guy who wrote this to include few links about the CPC scene too at the end but he never did :). It's just not trendy enough as the C64 =)

I didn't say the CPC was uninteresting, I think all computers deserve a demoscene... except PC ;-)... but Pete's article is about the impact Jack Tramiel had with the computers his companies produced.
oh Jack Tramiel !!1
