sagacity: Quite the opposite, my friend. :) My dvd collection contains about 100 Hong Kong movies. But I agree, they have become a bit worse/Hollywood mainstream, and I guess I am biased, as my girlfriend is from HK.. :)

any hong kong films made recenly have a 90% probability of sucking. But the true oldschool kung fu films.. they are the bomb. Basically, everything before the "flying from tree to tree on a wire whilst kicking each other 5000 times" style of kung fu was invented.

Hm? The swordplay genre is pretty old, psonice.
But I agree about the flying crap.

hmm... i was in hong kong about 2 weeks before kungfu hustle was out. But check it out i will do.

shaolin soccer was cool indeed. although i heard the english dubbed version was pretty shit.

I'm in Hong Kong now, watched Kung Fu Hustle some days ago on dvd. It was good, but I must say House of Fury is even better. (Not the same crazy style, though..)
It's showing in cinemas now, you should check it out! :-D
