why the fuck cant my m be called m if its called m.
mainloop also made an m, they registered their m on pouet first but my m is older.
why cant we have prods with same name on pouet.net?
i want an m not an m_ to be listed. ;)

yeah, that does seem weird.. especially considering the fact that there are prod ID's. It seems it should be possible to have two productions with the same name.

without knowing how the db works i'd suggest removing unique key from production name.

i guess it tries to prevent uploading same prods with exactly the same name. now you have to append "256b" or something to it:)

to prevent this, how about forcing the glöpper to go through a list of prods with a data very similar to the one you're adding? (like exact matches for party+rank+platform, download url, name or some other suspicious combinations like group+scenesoundextm(name))

yes i had this problem too. i recently uploaded 'Eclipse' by Triumph (http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=5228). however an 'eclipse' already existed on pouet by electromotive force. So i had to rename the new one 'Eclipse (amiga)' since the other one was an ms-dos intro.

i guess we should be able to upload same named prods since they use a seperate ID.

It should only be forbidden if Groupname AND Demotitle match!
This can not be a technical problem as there are for example two "megademo 2" in the database!

Exactly! GRP+Title is enough to separate. Do it this way!

i just noticed that when you add a screenshot to a prod, you get to chose the prod from a list ordered by the prod's NAME... ooh... aah... ;O

be the first to upload on pouet, then you will be the only one to have the so loved title :)
