I just acquired a Philips MSX machine, with a cassette unit. Is there any way to download MSX software, and transfer it to the machine? I mean, some way like the x1541 cable for the C-64, etc.

The easiest way is probably just getting a (for MSXes much more common) 3,5"" DD drive, those can read DOS formatted disks. :)

unfortunately the 3,5" 1DD/2DD disks are pretty much the only supported medium for demos. At least i don't know of any cassette ones.
And as skrebbel mentioned, it's really easy to transfer stuff then.

All demos I know of must be started from MSX-DOS. Never came across any MSX-1 demos you could start from basic. So yeah, you would need a diskdrive.

The only annoying thing on the MSX is the small number of available demos.

Since you acquired a MSX, it would be cool that you try to code something on this machine !

By the way, I also have an Oric Atmos, but without a power supply or any data storage unit. Can someone help me finding such things? There are none on eBay.

Damn it, I would love to see Dbug's demos on the real thing =)

(I had a friend who had an Oric years ago. Played a few games on that system too back in the day. I wonder what became of him)
