RIP Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner & Blind Fury amongst other films)

category: general [glöplog]

As most of you will sadly be aware, the great Dutch actor, Rutger Hauer, has passed away. He was 75 years old.

I personally was very fortunate to meet him in person at an event in Milton Keynes, UK, back in 2002 called Collectormania 2, which he'd been invited to and revealed this to us on his official web site at the time.

My memories of him are still fairly fresh, even now. He was a lovely guy to meet in person, he was chatty, talkative and was very pleased to meet his fans who had made the journey to the event from wherever they were based. For myself personally the event was held about an hour's drive from my home so I made the trip to go into the queue for seeing him. I also picked up a signed autograph from him that was signed right in front of me :)

I'm sure you'll all be joining me in wishing his family and friends our regards and sharing their sadness. During his later career he was involved in at least a couple of games that are still available on current generation consoles such as the PS4 and Xbox One series.

RIP Rutger. Take care matey and we'll see you on the other side.

RIP Rutger.

Blind Fury == Yet Another Hollywood Ripoff of Japanese Cinema (in particular, the highly popular Zatoichi movies). Not the first or last time it happened.

A decent B-movie it is, but watch this and this for something much better:
Zatoichi monogatari (1962)
Zatoichi (2003)

let's not forget Ladyhawke and Blood of Heroes, the latter being the inspiration for the first Elder Scrolls game ;)
The Hitcher was GREAT !
