category: general [glöplog]
I just want to say a quick "Thank you" to Ryg and Acryd for their help! BP organizers are nice people indeed! :)

stefan: you do that, and you'll have a fun time sleeping outside. in case you manage to avoid being arrested.

we sure as hell won't let you in again if you pull such crap.

one more post and we'll not even let you into the shuttle bus, let alone the main hall. because we definitely have a better use for our organizing time than keeping you in check.

this is the final warning, ONE SINGLE WORD more and you stay out.

god damnit lator, didnt you read the european handbook for swedes they gave us in school when we joined the european union back in 96

§88 if you go to germany, dont mention the war or do jokes about the war or nazis because they dont have that kind of humor there, bring a moose instead! or they might get mad and try to take over the world or something...

wtf why did that dubbelpost?

hey lator, did we fuck up? we mentioned the war, do you think we got away with it?

Actually "heil hitler" is not a joke. It's not humor. There is no punch line, and no surprise. It's just plain trolling. Same goes for calling the BP team nazis again and again.

Plus, all kinds of nazi signs and sayings are fordbidden by law in Germany. Yeah, that's not freedom of speech, but hell, next to every country has those dark topics that are excluded from free speech. If lator is already announcing in advance that he wishes to misbehave at Breakpoint this year again, and also is announcing behaviour that might damage Breakpoint's reputation in the city, I sure don't see a reason why we should welcome him.

We don't need to further discuss this. You've misbehaved last year (where we had to remove you by force out of the beam team area) when you were drunk, so we had planned to put you on our zero tolerance list already.

But as you've during the last years constantly tried to insult the breakpoint organizing team, we don't see any reason why we should further support you in any way.

So, now go and find a different bunch of people who are willing to organize something for you. We won't :)

hey scamp, whom else is on this zero tolerance list?

or is this actually the first prepartyban we have seen since the hirmusisters got banned from Dreamhack?

Not wishing to jump on the offtopic boat, but I do not approve of the abstract where detained civil rights activists getting their fingernails removed could be put in the same boat as germany's ridiculous nazi-related censorship.

But hey, laying it on any thicker than lator is hard, I guess :)

dubmood: It's the first time we've banned someone IIRC.

The zero tolerance list is something different. If you are on it, it means that if you misbehave again, we won't give you a warning/second chance, but throw you out as soon as you misbehave badly. The list is rather short - a S!P member is on it because he pissed on a sleeping scener at BP2004, and another S!P member is on it because he wanted to start a fight with the security after we had told the first S!P member to leave the location.

So, you really have to screw up BIG TIME to get on the zero tolerance list. Violence, damaging stuff, harming other sceners.

Lator went a different way - getting on our nerves for years ;)

I understand why you would ban someone, if he really wants to hurt your organisation.

But based on pouet discussions and never tell me IRL at Breakpoint (been there all year) or any other demoparty that they seriously are hurt by my comments is rather weak. Having me banned without even giving me a second chance after having be excusing them officially on their IRC channel.. Well..

Lets just hope any of you who wish to enjoy Breakpoint (as myself) by accident hurt any BP organizers "for real".

Just to make stuff clear:
Ive always enjoyed breakpoint parties (as shown in the "breakpoint is over" threads). Sometimes i havent shared the compocrews view of appropriate hw in the compomachine, once we had a stormy discussion with alot of rivalry about including macintosh in the "pc demo".

And once at breakpoint i was being annoying against kebby, an act i thought somehow still was considered "harmless".

* I never ruined anything (or made a mess).
* I have never participated in a fight (exept me and plek standing and hitting each other as a joke during a democompo;)
* Never started or witnessed any fight (just tried to stop some with carrion and polish people (successfully))
* Never really irritated anyone at BP, theres no reason to ruin a good party.
* I have always given BP good reviews afterwards and have always come back.

I guess this is the end of my yearly Breakpoint trips, wich is a shame, since all of them have been worthy and funny.

Good luck with Breakpoint and enjoy the party folks.

shifter: Didn't mean to put that into the same boat. I was more thinking of other "democratic" countries that also have their limitations to free speech, that look strange to an outsider. Go to turkey and talk about the armenian genocide. Try to say something negative about the pope in roma (well, or in the UK, just today I've read that an BBC cartoon about the pope got censored), be the dixie chicks in the USA etc yaddayadda.

Besides:

While the german censorship of nazi-praise may look strange to outsiders, most germans WANT that censorship - simply because they are afraid that nazis could become more powerfull again. And this is why all that nazi stuff is not "history" in germany - it's the present. "Don't mention the war" doesn't really hit it - WW2 is not a problem for anyone here anymore, and probably every german can laugh about that faulty towers episode. The fear of todays and tomorrows nazis is the problem.

Here in Bingen, we have about 26.000 residents. Out of those 26k, there are about 20 known nazis. Because of those 20 nazis, we had a huge anti-nazi-demostration two weeks ago. So yeah, we germans are fucking sensitive about nazis. But then again, the rest of europe should be pretty damn happy we ARE ;)

Well, enough of that, I really should go back to organizing, tomorrow morning we'll start setting up the location ;)

well, its lator, what do you expect, he is like that, he never got banned from any other party and he did alot worse stuff than this, even though I think he deserves if for being an ass for his whole scene-life (he somehow avoided getting beaten up all this time, its pretty amazing) I feel really sorry for him having booked his flight he cant cacel, got vacation from work etc. I say please reconsider, give him another chance, I belive he got the point by now he is almost crying on irc ffs.

oh and please, real nationalsocialism might not be fun, but jokes about not mentioing the war and nazis is, no matter waht you say, you cant start a world war and belive we wount make jokes about it niggahplz kthanx cheers

you know, having 20 nazis out of 26k ppl is pretty normal, in sweden we discard thoose as loonies (and they often gets beaten up very badly or stabbed to death by militant eftwing organisations)

but a whole country, voting for hitler (a little funny gay with ADHD and a mustache), starting a world war on zillion fronts, genocide with factories (and denying knowledge about it) etc etc... and all this only 60 years ago, not even a lifetime. ffs you must understand that its so bizarre and unreal for us that we will joke about it and joke alot, and its not like you cant take it because your country suffer so much from wardebts, you are a wealthy country now (or, atleast for a while longer, thanks to the EU)

and yes!, I am glad that you have the nazicencorshiplaws, I wish we had them too (would prevent us from having to run out and kick nazibuts every now and then) but get a grip ffs. gah, I just had to get that off me, please unban lator he didnt mean no harm. time to sober up and go to bed piz

dubmood: The problem is that it's quite hard to trust lator that he really means what he says. I'll talk with the team again tomorrow about this.

And well, of course jokes are no problem. After all, british comedy is considered the best in germany, and it's always full of nazi jokes. But see, if I hear someone out there on the street yelling "heil hitler", I'm worried that maybe some nazis are attacking the multi-cultural youth center again and I'd call the police. The problem is using the exact same phrases as the current real nazis do, not doing jokes about Germanys nazi past.

scamp:
I would agree that its hard to trust my word on pouet, wich kindof is why all this dropped as a bomb to me.

However, if you are intrested at all, a short telephone talk is easily arranged to verify my seriosity about this topic.

well... you ahve to put it in the right perspective

when I see a guy in camopants with razorshaved head on the street yelling heil hitler I would do the same thing
if I see a little nerd that likes to flame ppl on internet but is like 140cm tall in real life write that he now can walk the streets of bingen yelling heil hitler so ppl can notice him on the same internet forum. thats a joke, or a desperate prayer for attention. its a huge fucking difference
