No new logos?
category: general [glöplog]
Woo finally! The future is here!
Great. First logo I uploaded and already fucked up the transparency. Don't vote for it! :(

oh, wait, i'm really sure it'll be abused, so probably you could fix the script so that logo would need a gloperator approvement before it's visible/voteable for users ? ( tho madenmann is not that reliable in this case, as he's of ex-metalvotze :D )
What about letting the users vote ?
well, given a chance, tits will win hands down, i'd vote for too :DDD
well, nevermind, they can be wiped out later if something, seems i'm a paranonid :)
elend : if you mean that edge-stripes in the upper left part, i'd say they just add some style, i couldn't have considered it a bug if you didnt tell

ah, new logos, cool!
Too bad some people submit logos using PNG transparency though.
It looks ugly with IE 6 since it doesn't handle transparency yet (which sucks but a lot of people still use IE). If you want your logos to look nice on all browsers, try to avoid transparent PNGs :)

now that was a real bad advice, better get rid of ie, cause shadows look cool

Demo makers are clever enough to see the advantages of PNG and to use a better browser once they know/realize that IE is a crap. :p ( the only thing I appreciate with IE is its fast, but buggy, rendering engine )
Here comes the few lines needed to fix the PNGs in IE5.5+
...does it work?

Metalvotze has the best logos.

20 glops are 20 glops regardless of vote :)

Here are some Pouët stats:
- Firefox 44.12%
- Internet Explorer 42.76%
- Opera 7.45%
- Mozilla 2.51%
- Safari 1.82%
- Konqueror 0.38%
- Netscape 0.25%
- IBrowse 0.21%

Yep, Firefox's 1st (!!!), and as IE7 is supporting PNG's alpha, I say: Go on, support PNG transparency !

Actually Metalvotze has re-united at the Ultimate Meeting 2005:( tho madenmann is not that reliable in this case, as he's of ex-metalvotze :D )

@havoc: btw I used transparency. wtf?
And it's that difficult-boring adding as suggested by p01 to the generated pages? It would bring a sensible improvement since IE as we can see is the 2nd mostly used browser...
of course gif sucks, PNG rules :)

I said it before but hey: DON'T use that hack.
It's an ugly hack that encourages people to use deprecated browsers. Don't ever use that.

This browser war/zealotry is just stupid, as are platform wars.
Just keep in mind that if you want all people to see a nice version of your logo, avoid PNG transparency for now. Your logo doesn't need 32 bits colors.
However, if you want almost half the users to see an ugly logo with a huge gray background, then for for it, but that's too bad because most won't install this script (I won't either). Moreover those users might downvote it, which is too bad since your logo is really cool...
Well 42% using IE is quite higher than I expected.
keops: when you talk about the script are you talking as a user (the hack is used by the website, no need to install) or as a site admin (I suppose so).
I have logos disabled and I'm using FFox, so not really an issue for me - but enabling the hack for the logo, or using one of the css-hacks specially for the logo might be an option?
it's not much more than a check on the webbrowser and using one of IE filters in case...

or just set your background color over transparency to the pouet background blue and then it will be only fucked up with IE if a trumpet wanders there.
