nagz: fwiw that tune kinda rulez
not my proudest tune, but thanks :)
Speaking of tunes, can anyone point me in the direction of the tune that played during the animated gif compo? :D
That would be Cocio & Finsprit.
Thanks a bunch for a once again awesome Revision. That went by even faster than the last ones I did visit.
I cannot believe I now have to wait for one more year, realizing 3 months before the party takes place that I have not started one release. Getting nervous about 6 weeks before. Getting working 2 weeks before. Getting insane 3 days before. Getting drunk right from door opening. :)

@Saga Musix: Thanks!

my informators told me that this fuckin abomination of mine (NGZ-PIPI.XM) was played randomly at the party hall.
Why do you do this to yourself?
Seriously.

(Yes, it happened, and I made sure I'll have a proof)
:)
I thought I was spotting obvious MP3 artefacts during the streamed music compo when listening to this entry, and re-listening at home (and checking the spectrum) confirms that it's a 160kbit MP3 file, but the actual content is more like 80-96kbit, with a steep cutoff at 13kHz. Maybe next year the 192kbit requirement should actually be enforced? ;)
If I may ask: who are these two nice gentlemen ?
@everyone who participated: great demo show. we thorougly enjoyed it!
The one on the right seems to be DFox. ;)

numtek: so you get in for free at outline if you still have your revision wristband on? :)

PC is not amused. ;)
AceMan: yes, totally agreed that there should have been communication concerning the prizegiving delay.
Still, to give some insight into why things were what they were: after nearly 8 days of buildup and party
with an average workload of close to 20 hours per day our brains simply don't function THAT well anymore
when confronted with extraordinary situations.
We were facing very tricky issues with partymeister that avoided us to get the whole orchestration for the
prizegiving up and running which then delayed any processes dependent on that. So, while D.Fox and the beamteam
were frantically trying to keep things from fully crashing, we had to deal in parallel with correlated stuff
like handling the airport shuttles and trying to find solutions on how to (re-)structure the prizegiving to
avoid even more harm to the already totally broken sequence.
Also, at some point this meant that we (moqui, madame, steltek, me) lost track of the state of what was going on
concerning the fixing, except that we knew that it would be the actual WORST idea to talk to anyone involved
in the fixing because well yeah, human brains are in general very bad at multitasking and doubly so in situations
like this.
Having said that, we still agree that more information would have helped and we are sorry for this.
But we also hope this gave some insights what was happening behind the scenes and why all went crazy.

Thanks to the organizers and party-goers for another Easter party!
I didn't get to talk to as many people as I wanted as much as I wanted, but that's my major malfunction.

No complaints, just thanks!
Had a great time, met people I've only talked to online before, lots of old friends and some new ones. Compos were as amazing as ever, orgas were friendly and helpful like always, and omg a fantastic vegan food stand. Now to find somewhere for all these stickers!

There is only one appropriate place: On the lid of your laptop. :)
Awesome party as always, and hope those at home enjoyed Truck, CGI, Bombe, Franky and myself babbling over the visuals. :)
thanks for the party except I really missed (as ppl pointed out) a small info to audience regarding "we have technical issues... stay tuned" would have been enough. ;=). but yeah next time :D.
Regarding our VIC-20 demo Gnork... I guess I was too tired/upset coming from Paris family holidays and so while we were recording it from real HW 2x... we detuned the whole picture :D. in terms of colors etc. So that was my responsibility and not the orgas. I realised that when watching the life stream again at home while ppl writing me "what did you do with the colors mate" :D.
So see you next Revision 2019 and thx for voted 3rd place at Oldschool compo!
you rock!

Now for some more feedback:
- The prizegiving delay was indeed rather huge. I cannot seem to remember a single Revision where it was on time, so my personal suggestion would be to finally move the prizegiving to 12:00 on the timetable (but still start preparing as if it was happening at 11 ;)). Leaves more time for the orgas to fix things, and as a result people hopefully have to wait less and don't have to fear missing their flights.
- Same complaint as in previous years, I guess: The volume levels during the last main stage act were brutal. I even perceived them as being too loud at the back to center of the hall. I heard similar complaints from other people. I'm sure they can be dropped by a few dB and still be enjoyed by everyone.
- The second-to-last compo block was maybe a tiny bit too long this year. Maybe adding an explicit break in the middle would have helped, as you could never be sure if the next compo would start immediately or if there was going to be enough time for a pee break. Not a huge issue though.
That's it, really! The party was awesome, the quality of productions was very high once again, and I thorouhgly just enjoyed being there and talking to new and old friends. Luckily, Easter will be at the end of April again next year...

D.Fox: so any pro tips for other party orgas out there deciding to alter their party voting system in the last weeks before their party? :D sorry to hear about your stress with the issue, thanks for resolving things!
Ok, here is for the minor compl^H feature requests for next year:
A. Please, provide a way to vote from outside the party hall. On Sunday night we left for the hotel after the compos, and as we arrived I thought "Ok, let's vote for all those cool prods! Dang, I can't. :-(". Needless to say, I couldn't make to the party place before the deadline on Monday.
B. Please, rework the night shuttle route. I'm not sure what the current itinerary is, but it's super confusing. On Saturday night after we passed by our hotel (B&B), not once but twice, we decided to just drop off at whatever the next stop would be (it was the Mercury) and walk from there. Given the number of people who got off there as well, I suspect we were not the only ones to feel that way. On Sunday we just dropped at the first stop and walked, instead of having another of those night tours.
C. Keep it up the fine work!

Zavie: B&B was not a partner hotel this year, but the hus stops only at those. If you found it listed on any shuttle schedule then this was an error.
Else, we unfortunately can't know in advance for which hotels our visitors settle, that's why the bis stops only at partner hotels.

Oh, and one more thing, which has also been brought up in the past:
- It was difficult figuring out when compos would start while being outside, especially since the jingle seemed to be a bit less bass-heavy compared to previous years?
Maybe having an extra speaker or screen just for jingles in the party tent would already do it. Alternatively, an infodesk orga coming outside and shouting "COMPO IS ABOUT TO START!" with a megaphone? ;D
