Yes, cloning is a perfectly good way to duplicate an output.
I wish Framemeister would come with another firmware update soon. I've never seen a more buggy scaler; it messes wildly with the colors both on input and output even on digital inputs (causing crushed blacks, clipped whites and wrong gamma), and adjusting settings only helps so much.

yeah I read that the firmware didnt exactly got to be more bugfree over time, also theres all those settings and things which are mainly aimed at japanese standards...
I wish someone or some team who knows their shit about proprietary embedded systems would hack up a better firmware which is optimized for the framemeisters purpose at demoparties but thats probably non-trivial (aka a shitload of work) and would break a law or two aswell ;)

Yzi: tested with such stuff and no, there is no easy way to record such.
I recommend using something like ossc wirh ilace passthru to get full linecounts im a video file and splice/deinterlace manually afterwards
