Pöuet says that a link I've added in the past is now broken. Ok, I fix it with another valid one. Pöuet says no, the previous is a working one. Now there's another one in my account profile, so what?

luca: links can be broken temporarily and pouet tells you that they are broken. got 26 broken links myself at the moment but they are all working. if you submitted a link it will be checked by a glöperator so if he checked the old one and it worked ... you get the idea. just out of curiosity: where to you host the files?
Hello.
Please remplace this static screen by this animation.
Thank you. Have a good day =)!

There is a problem with this prod: the download link reported as broken, works neat.

luca: Read the answer to your question already given.

tomaes:
Thank you very much =).

And yet =)...
You know... Started to make gifs when the demozoo has not been there yet. And, in my possibility, try to fill the 64k limits to very las byte. I may eventually agree with your idea, but you know it is still impossible to put all the demo in 64k gif =).

Will think it over, thou!

Be well and thanks again! =)

tomaes: ok, in a so large range of chances, which is the best way to say "that link works"?

There is a problem with this prod: use screenshot from current download link and replace current screenshot
There is a problem with this prod: use infofile from current download link and replace current nfo
luca: I'm sorry, I don't think I understand exactly what question you are trying to ask (I think you already know how to check if a link works, so I will not insult your intelligence by explaining that :)). The broken link detection certainly is not perfect, but it helped us going from >20% deadlinks to ~2%, so despite the imperfections, I would vote to keep it active.

flashy: too laxy to read our answers hmm? don't be surprised to be ignored then...

FishyFlashy: Call me crazy, but I prefer not to download a 121MB file to add a <64KB screenshot. Please post them separately. :)

*facepalm*
Flashy: done. but havoc has a point there. next time please imgur or something.
There is a problem with this prod: the correct party is this

There is a problem with this prod: party/compo/rank should be The Party 1992, pc demo, blank (unknown). Maybe change the title to Warlock (Lame Is Beautiful) because it's called "Lame Is Beautiful" in the TP92 results.

havoc: err...pöuet claims a broken link but it's perfectly work; now: which is the cleanest procedure to say to someone:"hey that link's fine, remove it from the broken ones' list"?
added on the 2017-04-06 11:02:20 by Luca/FIRE Luca/FIRE
There's no "procedure" really. The system is inherently imperfect, but useful. Maybe the detection algorithm could be improved to produce fewer false positives or the "link broken" messages should be rephrased csdb style: "link might be broken".
added on the 2017-04-06 11:20:14 by tomaes tomaes
Luca: What Tomaes says is right, but to bring it to the point exactly: There's two ways a prod can be removed from that list. First and foremost, since the automatic broken link detection routine scans all prods periodically, it will actually correct a lot of these cases by itself if it is allowed enough time.

The second way is for a gloperator to manually reset the download link. This doesn't overrule the automatic check though, so in the case of a "reliable server on a poor connection" for example, the "broken link" indicator might pop right back up. That's also the reason why many gloperators are reluctant to take this step: It's just a visual fix, or "window dressing" if you will, in many cases.

Hope that explains (a bit, at least) :)

So the procedure is: just wait a few days, the message will go away all by itself.
