ah, cheap bashing, then.
was there any doubt to begin with? :)
well, i was more expecting some sort of pedantic bashing, like, use of long words, supported by a heavy iq-mark artillery.
Hmm, no blitzkrieg tho.

"the jealous pouet.net sceners bite at hugi again"
due cause for another snn and/or ojuice news remembering people to send their articles for next illustrious edition of hugi if you ask me.

Uh oh, I better check the wiki. That doesn't sound right. Was that personifcation or a metaphor?
What's a metaphor?
What's the metaphor you?
Ah God I love the Italians. Everything sounds funny with an italian accent.
... Too much coffee today. Sorry. Please resume your playful banter.
the wiki, main source of scene knowledge for the scene knowledgable panamerican sceners.
Giving away such a tool which clearly represents a large amount of work and knowledge is not marketing nor consuming.
C'est de la grandeur.
C'est de la grandeur.
Are you referring to the synth tool or wiki tool.

Ah the wit herein... American television and cinema, the main source of english language education in urban europeans. *back slap*

Prove me wrong! That's where I learned it!

no :( 'sesame street' gets translated everywhere. :((( for teaching ourselves english, we had to rely on 'dukes of hazzard', 'a-team', 'macgyver' and 'knight rider'.
afaik sesame street was just subtitled hungarian here, not redubbed...
oh?! didn't know this... hmm so what colour is 'big bird'/'pino' in hungary? and what is his name, if any?

Havoc: unfortunately even these ones were dubbed in France... now you know why the french have serious issues with english, they just didn't have the original versions of these jewels! :)

keops, i doubt that is the only explanation- germans have the same disadvantage, but their english is usually much better. perhaps it's got something to do with the fact that you can use your language in more than 2 or 3 places outside your own country ;)
It's more likely indeed ;)
Moreover, till 10 years ago the french educational system required the students to focus much more on mathematics and physics than on foreign languages. But things are changing, at last.

great! perhaps 'allo allo' will finally grow outdated enough not to be repeated at least once every 6 months ;)

I refuse to believe it! Not after years of watching subbed anime in hope of learning Japanese! (or how to make a blue fireball come out of my wrists)
Ernie, je hebt een banaan in je oor!
Bert, ik kan je niet verstaan, want ik heb een banaan in m'n oor!

in fact in Germany EVERYTHING on tv is translated, so we had to resort to such arcane methods of learning English like _school_ and that stuff. Really scary.
EVERYTHING- except rudi carrell ofcourse (or is he dead already?)
ps: who was the first person to write "pan-american"? was it me? or did I read it here somwhere?
I'd like to think it was because I didn't like being called an American, but I digress. What was the point of this thread again? Did it have a point? *continues watching some anime*
the point was: adok is a whinning wanker and kb hates him for beeing a whinning wanker in public. yep.
as for the french vs german discussion. i can safely say both populations equally suck big time with english, but french do have funnier accents, but i might be biased through too a heavy of a monthy python addiction.
"fecher la vache!"
following another equally interesting subject:
bigbird is called popas in portuguese and he was orange. feel afraid. who said the demoscene's cultural interchange was only surrounding comparing beer brands and ways to tell people to shut up and suck their knob in diferent languages now has living proof of the contrary.
also for the record, arcane can sing childrens shows titlesongs in both french and german.
so now you know!
