fuck you kb, let the ascii artists in peace, stop including nfo makers to "talentless perpetually bitching crackingscene wankers", thanks in advance.
to = in :)
Not to mention that some ascii artists don't draw nfos for warez groups at all.
word.
some people should seriously realize that being oldskool doesnt mean stubbornish dwelling in the past.. that's what you can do when you hit your 60s
ikstar: did that kb thing hit you in soft spot? anyway i draw AsCii so iam "talentless perpetually bitching crackingscene wankers" ;)))))))))
unseen: we all knew that tho. :)

Doom:
a) don't even think about trying to reverse that conclusion and imply i'd have said that
b) Prove otherwise. After excluding the trolls for trolling's sake, look at all the ppl who make complete dicks of themselves, and check their background. As sad as it is - i can see a certain pattern there.

=)
you can also choose Peter "allmighty" Alexander or Hans "old Skool" Albers or Freddy "Fastlightnings" Quinn... don´t take that all to serious friends.
To the rest, Amiga was and is still cool, ascii is cool ( iks make as example fine ones ) but even kb does a quit good job for this scene.
there are not really problems in my opinion ;-)

a) Sadly, the statement is entirely invertible, which means you already implicitly said that non-Amiga sceners are generally better people.
b) It's not so much a question of disagreeing with your conclusion as not understanding why you need to conclude anything at all. People who are too eager to sense patterns are the kind we call judgmental. That's reflected, of course, in the fact that those people you call stupid and arrogant are judged as such by you, subjectively. What's more, there simply aren't enough of us for any kind of generalization.
Know your enemy: The communication and people skills, not to mention the patience, required in order to be a fixed-platform scener in a changing-platform environment is lot more than you expect. We want an outlet for our skillz plus a little respect from kindred spirits if we do well, not an exercize in diplomacy.
To be honest, it's really hard not to lose it sometimes. Like when you learn that the Amiga demo compo rules at BP are updated every year to reflect non-existent hardware development "just because", even though you honestly believe it's illogical and a bad trend. So you want to argue - but trying to argue is the trap; you're gambling with the patience of the people you depend on to host the compos you've come to rely on.
That is to say, if I did see the same pattern as the one you conjured up, I would reserve a lot of patience for the people who might sometimes get careless and let their guard down.
But I don't. It seems to me that most if not all active Amiga sceners are sincere and reasonable people who are very moderate about their preference for fixed hardware, and I expect your prejudice to be based on a few encounters with a handful of mostly inactive sceners who are mostly well-meaning but get too easily fed up with the attitudes of the trolls and tech fetishists.
And, case in point:

please don't bring ascii into this bullshit.
ahaha, warez zealots, amiga zealot, ascii zealots, hooray for this retarded thread!
i'm not a zealot. i just do letters out of slashes and dots for people who ask me to. that's all. what's you guys' problem?
it's just too much fun to upset you again and again with the same old tired jokes... almost like stefan's/shifter's constant Nazi references ;)
Then again, Doom, apart from mixing in a few valid points about the current Amiga scene you're dead wrong. All that I said is that the big majority of those disgruntled wannabe has-been oldschool legends can in one way or other be caught screaming "AMIGA! AMIIIIGA!" somewhere. Nothing more, nothing less. I didn't even say a single word about active Amiga sceners or that anyone is better in general.
I can even understand where they're coming from.ö I've experienced people hopelessly stuck in the past since I entered that train full of sceners which then went to The Party 1994 (yeah, even back then), and I had many many opportunities to study this behaviour. And 'lo, behold - somewhere beneath the moronic hull of most of them are a few valid points, mostly basic human social behaviour and the fact that the demoscene went through plenty of chapters in its short history, each of them worthwile but it'll never come back.
Perhaps the Amiga scene of the early nineties, often regarded as the scene's golden age, was in fact so great that more people than ever are so desperately clinging to it.. who knows ;)

i'm just tired of this hypocricy going on. on the one hand, i get requests from demo(!)sceners (not warezsceners) every week - on the other hand people are laming around and joking about it all the time. seriously, guys, why do you request then?
i'm absolutely pragmatic about ascii. ascii is craft, and as soon as there will be no demand for it i will stop doing it. but do you want me to stop earlier with comments like that?

there's an ö in kb's post.
BTW...dip: how about a new file_id for us poor mdS Amiga retards :D
and yes, the original topic is totally retarded and i didn't want to participate in this. i just don't want to have ascii occupied with this idiocy. mind you, NO ONE of the nowadays active & good ascii makers is laming around like those who triggered that thread. please don't throw us into that pot. that_'s all.
dodge: didn't i do you one like 2 years ago? if you want a new one nevertheless, please email me.
