Little question about the screen resolution... is it okay, to just use the desktop mode and go fullscreen?
Well, for demoparties that is usually okay but the people at home will probably not like it. ;)

full desktop res, half desktop res (for slower machines), keeps the selection dialog simple and the aspect ratio in shape!
