Bincoin mining & GPUs

category: offtopic [glöplog]
Bitcoin has been around USD 15,000 for the past two weeks. Experts say it might rise to USD 50,000 in the course of 2018. No warranty. I myself have not bought any Bitcoins yet.

As long as it stays a quasi digital commodity of speculation there will be stern corrections on its market value. It might become a stable thing once your mum and dad are able to pay for goods and services via BTC or other cryptos. ATM this is not the case, therefore "muh 50,000" is a Tulip-hausse prediction.

Indeed. Bitcoin is not a stable currency at all. I would not even call it a currency. You cannot invest in Bitcoin. You can only speculate. A couple of months ago Bitcoin was at 3,000 and then it rose to 20,000. Too bad I was too reluctant - I could have made some bucks with this. But except for "a few bucks made quickly", Bitcoin is worthless.

Everyone who is regret for not investing or speculating (as you want) earlier says the same.

Hey guys! Is it too late to buy bitcoins? What will happen to the bitcoin course next? For example, here [URL removed] it is written that the price will increase. The site has a lot of information about bitcoins and I want to trust them.

At the peak popularity a couple of weeks ago it was taking several days for transactions to confirm. Bitcoin is surely inefficient and has not enough processing power.

or that breakpoint money! because it's actual printed money! :P
rutra80, thanks for this piece of information. This makes planning (for speculation) more difficult! This is an obstacle some people have perhaps been ignorant about so far.

It's dependent on transaction size though. Big amounts are prioritized, smaller ones take days/weeks.

Now we laugh a bit and wait for the bubble to pop.

if you are scared or (waiting to laugh) with systematic risk of the crypto-bubble remember that during 2017 QE it took ECB only 3 months to create more euros than the whole bitcoin market cap

backed by the EU... now you can argue EU politicians can be financial manipulators and criminals too, but... not the point :)
I guess gold bars are moved and secured with more troubles than BTC. From perspective of new "store of value" fees are acceptable + wait for the 2nd layer protocol like Lighting Network. BTC's killer app isn't ticket purchases with confirmation in the next block (and unreasonable high fees). LTC works just fine for that matter for few cents..
