Anarchy in The EU
category: offtopic [glöplog]
Regarding the riots, what most people outside Greece fail to see (mostly to strenuous and deliberate attempts to hide this fact from the mainstream media) is that the violence is incited by the police itself.
There were thousands upon thousands of people gathering on a daily basis in front of the parliament and making and statement and protesting for 30 consecutive days, and there was not even a scratch, to the point that exasperated citizens even brought their kids and babies to the protests, and yes.. the police was there as well.
But when crucial days came, the ones that austerity measures would be voted upon, suddenly the police builds iron walls around the parliament, and violence gradually erupts. There are torrents upon torrents of photographic and video evidence going around in the greek blogsphere that has caught the "hooded/masked" men who incite the violence, emerging from within police vans, or having a casual talk among the ranks of riot control policemen before starting hurling rocks and molotov cocktails at each other, while peaceful protesters are running away to escape from the teargas and the general upheaval. Things escalate and end up in chaos. Talk about a surefire way to dissolve an organized protest/demonstration.
As for us Greeks, our major problem is that we only act in unity when the shit hits the fan. When there's no peril, the mentality of the majority is that each individual's rights, supersede the rights of the collective other and this is unfortunately a state of mind that Greeks were forced to adopt.. in order to adapt.
If for instance in the workplace your boss comes in always late and pushes the working hours later, you eventually are forced to start coming in late yourself in order to cope. Same thing goes with the government. If the leaders nurture a setting of corruption, and most importantly they never get punished even if caught with their pants down, how do you think the average Joe person would react? Especially if the said average Joe has been leading an honest and responsible life, paying his taxes to the fullest and putting the needs of the many above the needs of the few... only to find himself being stepped over, piss poor, constant target of injustice and the idiot who pays the bill in the end?
This, however has not been done overnight. It took decades for this cancerous notion to spread around but it did. Still there are millions of people who refuse to join the bandwagon of corruption, who pay their taxes, who work hard and who watch what they have worked hard for being stolen away to pay for things they are not responsible for.

No you don't. The antichrist doesn't know shit about anything. He's a liar, just like the other idiots. Also, he is NOT for anarchy.
Just thought I should clear that up for you so you don't get confused. Ignore that guy. Listen to me.
We all need ze rotating zen
http://courson.morrison.free.fr/ for ruling anarchy on the planet.
anarchy is something like the best QI doing things for the first time.

My grandparents lived between Bromley and Croydon. This spins me the fuck out!
there was hardly any rioters, apart from a few dozen teenage kids. quite boring, i was hoping for more Greece style but not :(
i'm really looking forward to America's one. 300 million armed morons going berserk on each other for the last Twinkie. should be quite a show.
Furthermore some people are still interested in free violence whatever the reason of the manifestation. Hard to fight human aspects...

That's quite a generalisation, is it not.

Um ... didn't you pay attention to aMusic's statement ?
It was a few hundret teenage kids (although, police agent provocateurs) that stired up the Greece riots.
And WTH are you "hoping" for ? I think you'll change your mind when the shit is hitting the fan in your neighborhood!
Seconded.
Comparatively Aussies tend to be too laidback to get up to these sort of shenanigans. (I am generalizing here). A story -
in 96 I was in the UK on holidays for a few weeks. 1 day I met an ex-gf at a park in London (can't remember the name - there's a statue of Charlie Chaplin) - I was too busy getting drunk and smoking hash with some Irish people in the park. She turns up, we go to the pub and drink, later she goes into my backpack to get some smokes and finds an apple core which I'd got & eaten in the morning @ Victoria Station. She asked me why I had that in my bag & I said "Cause I couldn't find a bin"
"Oh, that's cause the IRA blow them [bins] up" says she, nonchalant.
"So where do you put your rubbish?" says I
"Oh, just chuck it in the street."
NOW. In Australia if somebody blew up a bin I'm pretty sure the first response from most people would be "Why the fuck would you blow up a perfectly good bin?" the home-owners amongst us would probably grumble about how this would put up our rates due to the council having to replace a bin...

tl;dr + plus i saw a few phases like "bad youth, ruining peaceful adult protests". tame, well trained and docile. like a pet. if you're going to protest, do it properly with Molotov cocktails and blood and broken bones. like real free men.
have the landless peasants of Spain and Italy been sold to the ECB yet?
just saying.
Not so much siding with button now. ;-P
solo troll is once again solo. i'm used to it :(

That, my dear delusional friend, is revolutionary ideological legitimation of violence - i.e. crap.
And here you can learn how it got into the minds of men.
So, read and educate yourself !
I promise to read it and try very hard to have proper opinions and think-right. With the help of this book I feel I can become an integrated part of society once again.
thank you.
thank you.

Still watching the States with baited breath. Could be a whole new way to approach population control.... :-)
Most people are fucking idiots, including myself.
