Revision 2012
category: parties [glöplog]
Great party i just got home :>
Had a wicked time :) Excellent party, brilliantly executed by the organisation team. Met loads of new people and great seeing some old friends.
Special thanks to Dodge and Dirtie for sorting me out with a boss WinUAE setup, I now have an Amiga laptop!
Musical highlight for me was hearing Reed rape the fuck out of the Amstrad CPC sound-chip! Excellent work there fella!
The only negative I'd say is the sound system on the 2nd stage. The delay between the headphones and the sound actually coming out of the speakers was near 2 beats later!
Oh and Variform 2 was shit.

xylo: Actually the printed timetable said 17:00 for 4k graphics and 17:30 for the wild compo.
The party rocked! Huge thanks to the organizers for making the event possible again!
Also thanks to everybody dancing to the jingle :D that was very rewarding and I'm glad it didn't annoy you to death (sorry to the people who were annoyed to death by the jingle ;).

full ack for thhe soundsystem issue, although it was 1.5 beats for Julius and me ;)
Still: Great party, really nice people all over!

when I compare the amount of releases between gathering and revision, I surely know, that I visited the right party. :-)
And in memory of my own organizing experience, I really have to say, that all revision-orgas did a marvellous job. My deepest respects for that.

numtek: The light & audio show wasn't noticeable if you were outside by the fire...
@radiantx Oh didn't know that. I thought the schedule said:
17:00
4k graphics
wild compo

The Sound was better, but Knoeki was far too loud. I really liked the Hoffmann-concert... nice arrangements and moody sounds.
@jco: The jingle is unbelievable great. Didn't leave my mind during the whole weekend.

Which was the reason for me to throw in the towel trying to cue in "In Effect" and let the abler man deal with it, becoming his "vinyl pimp" in the process ;D
It was great getting to know you, h0ff. Hope we can team up again some day.
Also huge kudos to Sly for letting me stray in some House classics between his set, thanks man.
And great big hugs to Charlie and his Skoda of Doom for doing a "Pan Central Europe" rallye and operating by stealth just to provide the party people with AAAMIIIIIIIIGAAAAA :D

I had audio hallucinations of the jingle the entire time last night.
Xylo: That was the whole point - the printed schedules differed from the schedules on the party network (which I couldn't access at all until sunday evening when I learned that the WLAN password in the info leaflet was wrong - I thought it was just lingering connectivity issues from excess AP:s, but I digress).
I don't want to come off as an ass, and I know from personal experience how hard work organizing even a small party can be. I just wanted to point out that there were areas which could've been handled better, and I hope that at least some of my criticism will be taken seriously for next year's party. I'll give it another shot.

h0ffmann... is it possible to get a playlist of your dj-set... from the freestylers "killasound" on it became really wicked :D

I thought the audio& and light show was dead give-away that a compo was about to start. But it is ofcourse always a bummer if you miss one.
When I was outside (right at the food stands, not at the bonfire), I missed the first two rounds of meaty's quiz (damn!) and of the scene.org awards stuff as well, because there was apparently no jingle or anything to be heard.
Also, I personally didn't like the volume of the dj acts - it felt like double volume compared to regular compos, which had an awesome volume level that could be endured without earplugs most of the time - while during the dj sets, the volume was painfully high even in the middle row, and I couldn't undertstand how people could survive this just in front of the speakers. Yes, I understand that you want to play your music loud, but please, not THAT loud next time. ;)
Other than that - a very awesome party.

The best parties are those, where you come back to "normal life" and everything feels kind of strange and empty. Then you start to wonder about all the things that could/should have been done differently, about all the people you wish you'd had time to talk to, all the things that you missed out. I guess the best way to create a party is to completely overload it with awesomeness, so that everyone misses out on at least a couple of things. That way, everyone will return next year, only to miss more things :-D
Really - a big, huge thanks to all the organizers, the caretakers, the info-team, beam-team, network team and in general, everyone who put a massive amount of their time into creating this spectacular event.
To me, everything was perfect, but in particular, I like to make special note of the things you REALLY managed to improve. The Coffee and the soundsystem! Everything else, I guess, was as awesome as it gets already last year, but your managed to keep the high standards.
Only request for next year, would be a booth selling food with just a touch of vegetables or salad. Could be rice with some stew, pasta with some vegatable-sauce, or just a slab of salad on the side with the grilled meat or saussages.
Thanks to all you guys once again, and see you next year if not at other parties during the year! :D

great party, first of all thanks to the organizers to make this happen again.
especially to the hungarian compo team, it's always a pleasure to hang around with you guys. and the rest of the hungarian bunch! asszem iden sem sikerült csoportkepet csinalni :D
also cheers to the haujobb, tbl and trsi guys for the nice booze and friendship ;)
kudos to my new groupmates in focus design and rebels. big hugs to booster and farfar, it was really awesome to be on the bigscreen with an amiga demo. and ofcourse kisses to all the danish posse, come to evoke! the green lantern was pretty mean :D
and everyone i forgot! see you next year!
the only thing which was on the negative side, that 2 hungarian demos got disqualified, whatever the reason was, so that left some bitter aftertaste, cos the guys surely had a lot of work with those productions.

Yepp, and we even saw the small things like Powersplitter on the desks, the
clean toiletts and the fucking great Piss-Stand at the fire. Maybe one thing was better on Breakpoint, thou: I liked the "themes" of each party. But hell ;)

Awesome party, from what I remember ;-). One should really have taken tuesday (as in today) off, the old body still feels kinda thrashed out. Excellent to meet all of you - and excellent job by the organizers - and let's not forget to praise ourselves, the sceners as well - we really seem to be a really friendly, helpful and resourceful bunch, don't we?
On the request side, I gotta agree with Punqtured - a more varied selection of food would be greatly appreciated for next year.

YEAH! I want to be able to choose between different kind of curry for my next year KURRYWURSTE MIT POMMES! \:D/
@djh0ffman: »Break The Cycle« is killer. But where can I hear/get/download the original version, because you submitted a special »Revision Edit«.
I had a wonderful time, so wonderful that I feel kinda sucky if I griped about anything - It was, as always, the best run party I have ever witnessed. There must be something in the water, since everything was more smooth than should be humanly possible :)
Fixing the request side of food would make life easier for vegetarians like me, but that is my personal choice, and I always manage rather well - it just got a bit bland alternating between pommes, pizza and crepes :) Other than that: best party ever, and this doesnt even begin to be a problem as such - its just a request, like real still water and the likes :) Well done guys!
