I know it's a render, but it suposedly represents the birth of a galaxy simulation.
[philosophical] I'm glad you said Galaxy and not Universe. I hate the way people dribble on about the fact there was only one big bang. I believe there is a more simple way of explaining it: The Universe is just like the life on this planet, people being born, people dying constantly, ever changing, ever evolving. Just like galaxies being born from black holes not strong enough to contain the matter within them, to some stars dying and creating black holes. I don't think the Universe started, but just keeps going on in a massive continual loop. Word! [/philosophical]

Nobody can be sure, but it sounds more plausible. Because for the big bang to happen, there would need to be something before it to make a big bang, which means there was something before the big bang, which ultimately means the big bang didn't start it all. Might as well say god created the big bang 'cos he was bored. :D
