MindCandy 3 completed! and ready to preorder

I finally watched the full BD (except the NVScene extras) ... whew :) The 720p60 choice always struck me as odd, but as Trixter explains in the extras, it was the best choice back then when they started the project, so I'll forgive them. What I don't forgive them though is the awful lot of transcription errors in the commentary subtitles, even the English ones: Sometimes the text doesn't match what is said and many words which are perfectly intelligible in the audio commentary are missing or wrong.
Optimus: Already tried ripping the BD instead of playing it with AACS-compliant software like PowerDVD/whatever? Then you can at least watch the .MTS files individually (which also makes it a lot easier to find the easter eggs ;)

good shit, as expected.

@Optimus: PowerDVD 10 worked for me on Windows 7 x64, maybe that will help?
@KeyJ: I won't lie to you, we had difficulty with the transcription. Four Americans did the initial English, and cross-checked each other. Then the English file was given to two people for Spanish, one for German, and no less than four people for French, and all were native speakers of their language (in fact, one of the French was Quebecois :-) We also communicated through a group email thread and when one person found an additional mistake, we all corrected it in the other languages. So we really did try hard, but sometimes we just couldn't understand what they were saying.
I guess in hindsight it would have been the most accurate for the groups to provide their own English transcription, but we didn't want to make it difficult for the groups who were graciously allowing us to use their productions as well as providing us commentary.
The STS commentary, while in line with their style, was particularly annoying %-)

I got my copy already... it'd be nice if someone would offer a digital download of the blu-ray ISO (at least, for those of us who bought the disc)... I do not have a -physical- blu-ray player, but can play BD ISOs with no problem.
I also don't know anyone who does own one, so I could make an ISO out of the disc :-( (except for some people's PS3s, but I doubt you can make an ISO with it)

Still waiting for mine (from Amazon). Got a mail from them this morning that apologized for the delay but that the Blu-ray had just been shipped.
We'll be having a MC3 screening session on saturday. What a neat chance to refresh memories about how (bad) did the mfx/kwl commentaries turn out.. :)
@el-bee: I don't know, I thought the We Cell commentary was pretty funny :)
@Jcl: You want a 50gig digital download?
@Jcl: You want a 50gig digital download?
I'll answer that for Jcl: yes.
I'd like the 50gb download too. I don't have a blue ray player, likely never will have a blue ray player, and don't know anyone who has one (aside from ps3s). That's not likely to change, everything gets streamed or downloaded nowadays.
I've actually held of buying the dvd because of that.. I'm happy to pay for it, and would watch the dvd, but it's quite a downer receiving the high quality version but only being able to watch the low quality version :(

I don't really buy many physical entertainment products (prrroow!) any longer either, but I wanted to have this on Blu-ray simply because I want it archived properly.
There are _really_ cheap blu-ray players out there. Get one, folks. :)
If I did that, I'd be buying an extra box just to watch a single disk. Or buying one just to rip that disk and then bin it. It might be cheap but I really dislike that kind of waste ;)
+1 for the 50gb download (what psonice said)
...so first there's video versions of demos, then DOWNLOADS of the bluray that contains videos...
THIS IS WHY WE CANT HAVE NICE DEMOS.

trixtes: yes, I do... don't really have a hurry, could leave it downloading for a pair of days. Got plenty of HDD space
Gargaj: I care for the featurettes and extras... the demos themselves, either are not very good today, or I don't need the blu-ray for watching :-)
I actually haven't yet watched the demos on the DVD except for a pair with the commentary

This is a nice christmas present - thanks to those who worked hard on this. Just ordered the blurry off MAZ - first time using MAZ and was very nicely surprised how easy and efficient it all was compared to the high street online shops.
Yes, I ordered from MAZ and it was an easy transaction, very polite.
Apart from being really buggy and slightly uninformative, and having to transfer money from Paypal manually, yeah, MAZ kindof works :)
where's the razor torrent?
Got to watch the commentary for some of the demos on the DVD and it was worth it for just that alone; can't wait to try the bluray.

gloom: was just being picky, smiley position was incorrect :-)
Enjoyed this, Navis/Smash commentaries are some of the best. The STS one for Electric Kool-Aid is super crazy. I love STS.
Insectecutor: well, basically they were just reading http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electricity#History ... :)
