I have burned my brain yesterday with the tetripz. Also, the bouncy behaviour (when you destroy some blocks) is not in that game, but if I reacall well in the tetris that can be found here http://www.eclipse-game.com/htm/main-frame.htm

Mirax Force on small Atari kicked my...eyes. Drop Zone (Defender clone) ruled some time. But my all time favorite (classic) shooter is Commando arcade version from Capcom. Being 11 or12, I even planned a break into the game hall =P... Fortunately I gave up and saved some parents nerves and their hard-earned munney =).
NB. Thx 2 MAME dev. team.

Other games I liked to play are some Contra series (Snes, Gameboy, Mega Drive), Castlevania (Snes and Castlevania2 on gmb), F-Zero, Puzzle Bubble. Also on PC Doom, Duke Nukem 3d, Blood, Liero (do you know this cool freeware? realtime worm like with phunny physical stuff particles and lotsa blood particles and fun?) and on online gaming Unreal Tournament. I have burned a lot of fun in this with Antitec/Dirty Minds :)

Also, on CPC the games are numerous. And on PC I can think of a lot more games, but I won't say that much in here. Perhaps I should build a favorite list..

It'a not only about nostalgia. I have been playing tons of C64 games in an emulator these days - and i have so much fun as with almost no modern game. And i have never played them before. I collect old PC adventure games. Everything from LucasArts starting with Grim Fandango was... well... boring. It got 3D. It got less art and more flare. And among the older games i find so many which are in their way beautiful...

My preferance is definately not the games which were in this article. But it somehow occurs to me that there were 3-4 good games per year in beginning of 90ies, nowadays you hardly get one - in my eyes.

midiclub: probably cause the games were a bit easier to make back then :) c64 games could be made by one person in a bedroom...

But i think the classic games that are around now are way more enjoyable, cause of the amount + quality of the content that can go into them. If only there were more of them :)
