Ah, yes, that would be hard, given that even 1 Mbit is 125 kB/sec and we don't have an African stream mirror. (We do have one in the US, but there's hardly any viewers hitting it.)
SESSE: u had one job!
Internet is SCHEEEIIISseEe

So the main-organizer needs more time for his demo again it seems ? :)
tft: Blame Telenor, unfortunately. :-/ Very little I can do, we've been in touch with support and they say it's going to stay this way during the party.
(Also, I had two jobs this year! Network and stream :-) )

That being said, we do have a plan for making sure this never happens again. :-)
Great fucking party! As usual I spent most of it working on the prod, but the atmosphere was perfect for that, as was the energy on Saturday night. Great good, great people, great times -- loved it as always :)
Great party again!
Really enjoyed being in the (sunny == this time just 50% true :) ) Flateby.
The only thing I've missed is the Ola VS. Gargaj fight over mic. This year it was a bit on low priority ;)
It's been a pleasure to meet you again. Thank you for organizing such a great party!!!
Coming back next year ( yes you can take it as a threat :D )

Excellent, brilliant, magnifient party once again!
Thank you everyone, was a blast!
Gloom - you sneaky little bastard :) I am humbled and honoured by this gesture
One thing though. I was 3rd in the prizegiving, but results.txt has me at 2nd place?

Thanks to everybody who came! And everybody who watched on the stream.
A selection of my photos, on pr0n as always.

Hello!
Thanks for a great party, I had a really good time overall. Very nice meeting everyone! This year I was kinda forced not to just hang out with the Swedes since there were so few of us there (five in total!!), and that was probably a good thing. :-)
Some constructive criticism: When resorting to running a demo in an emulator (i.e. the last resort), please be clear that this is what you're doing. The C64 entries looked really jerky and tearing-ridden compared to the other entries in the oldschool compo, and I can't help but wonder if that affected the results. Kinda ruined my mood that there wasn't even an apology, which rendered in a (for me) bad finale to an otherwise really great event. :-(

I take full responsibility for that - it's a Wuhu exploit that has been there for years. :(

Again, this one is on me, but for less of a technical reason - it simply never dawned on me that this would ever be an issue. In my mind, my job is getting something to run realtime any which way possible, emulation included; it's just that it never occurred to me that running something in emulation would warrant an apology. Part of my reaction must be a damage control thing: it's common for the audience to act hostile whenever emulation is even mentioned, so I tried to hide it as much as possible, but in hindsight this must be just a force of habit at this point.
For what it's worth, this is fully my fault and I'm sorry for this - I know pleading ignorance is no excuse, but I didn't act in bad faith at least, and if you would've mentioned it then and there I would've been easily convinced.
A bit more explanation about the results: the ones we presented on the bigscreen were the correct ones (and pouet/scene.org will be updated accordingly), I just made the TXT export as I was closing the voting and there was one vote that slipped through with the aforementioned exploit during that ~20-30min period - this didn't mean that anyone got to vote more times or remove someone else's votes, just that they were able to still cast a vote after the voting deadline, which (since it's my system that was at fault here) I still consider a valid vote.
Once again, I apologize for the confusion to the people involved, this one is all on me.

Haven't you had to listen to me bitching about 50hz vs 60hz, recording chains, and how the oldschool sceners will basically get their pitchforks and kill you when you drop even a single frame often enough to realize this might be an issue? :D
You organize a party at a radically different scale though.
@Gargaj: a pitchfork is still a pitchfork :D
@kb: Actually we changed the chain (and the stream) to 50 Hz during oldschool demos, but unfortunately, the emulator PC was still set to 60 Hz output, and the downconversion provided by the scaler wasn't a perfect mirror of the upconversion provided by the emulator. :-)
This is, obviously, something we'll fix next year.
(I will add that we explicitly wrote in the rules that if you delivered oldschool demos on any other platform than Amiga, you'd have to bring hardware yourself or face the terrible fate of emulation. We'd gladly connected a C64 to the Framemeister if anyone had brought one.)

Thank you for organizing such a great party! It was my first time visiting Solskogen and I definitely hope it isn't the last time as I had good time. :)
just got home.
kiitos ja anteeksi!
thanks for all the fish (how much is the fish?)

Thanks again for the party!
Internet-wise we had no problems in the CamPig. Then again; we brought our own internet-access since all modern CamPig's have at least one fast AP factory-installed :P
OH! Last year we burned through ~10 speakers and a few amps in the CamPig. This year we only blew one out of 14 cooling-fans, leaving all speakers intact and ready for more fun :) --> Now that's "cool"! .... (badam-badaum-bitch!)
Next time I'll try not to refill my diesel car with regular gasoline, and we may even get home faster. And way cheaper :/
Until next time! <3

thanks for the stream! enjoyed the compo night very much. I even learned interesting stuff about the norwegian language and chickens!
Another great edition (but unfortunately less sun, so no bathing in the lake this year) !
