Now that I see it I wonder on the quality of the education you get when you see a series where humans and dinosaurs are put together as if they ever coexisted at all...
Otherwise, not anime, but I was really into these
"Dartacan":
"Willy Fog":
and "Don Quijote"

This picture is an artwork not taken from the actual series. If you had actually watched the series you would know that the presented facts were quite accurate, not showing humans and dinosaurs coexisting.
those series were great.. wouldnt call it anime tho.. but great edutainment for kids :)
suddenly this thread has become the "what is your favourite cartoon series which has absolutely nothing to do with anime" thread
so I'll join with my fav
aahh, memories

Fullmetal Alchemist
Rurouni Kenshin
Ghost In the Shell
Elfen Lied
Death Note
Well, that was my best 5. Fullmetal Alchemist is the thing that every poueter should watch ;) ... Rurouni Kenshin rules up to 70th episode. G.I.S is the Matrix like sci-fi thing but a bit boring time to time. (Both movie and SAC1 is fine). Elfen Lied is one of the rare animes which can make you feel very different, hmm can't describe but it is different hehe. Death Note is cool until some episode.
Hmmm, from the past. I always liked Space Adventures of Cobra and Goal anime. Soon it was replaced with Tsubasa guy.
Hey someone mentioned Ulysses 31, that was also fine. But quite miserable. Did they able to save the ship crew?

You'd be surprised what qualifies as anime. F.e. this old favourite.

I AM NOT afraid to say that i still have sexual fantasies about Arkana from my childhood.
in other news...
If you are going to watch Ergo Proxy, i recommend watching Shinsen-Subs.
Ergo Proxy utiiles alot of Philosofical and sci-fi allusions in their episode, and at the end of each episode ShinsenSubs researched all of the symbolism and wrote a text that explains it, that you can read with some awsome background music.
Im telling you its a TRUE original science-fiction story for those that are into that scene.
Shinsen-subs also does great work on Black Lagoon, and its awsome i tell you!
ITS modern pirtes, with torpedo boats, boobs, mud and blood, in an awsome fictional crime city and and and.....helicopters being TORPEDOED!
No, not missles, an torpedo...from a torpedo boat...it sounds rediculus but its just as belivable as a Chuck Norris movie, only with bad guys as protoganit and no fucking Chuck Norris.

Seriusly...
Dennō Coil
Just until episode 13 tho...
It's like a world where using AR concept you can see a parallel (digital) world and even different versions of it. I bet we'll have something similar in 5 years.

emelie erdbeer..
anime reminds me a cartoon trying to be serious. i'm not a big fan of anime. but, i think if it was more humerous that serious i might like it more. but, anime as a form of art i like. because, it shows the artists are talented. but, they need some new scripts to go off of. because, watching a cartoon try to be serious and it not being sarcasm is pretty boring. imo.
