Tokyo rip, yep! you're right rainmaker :) The demo is based on the o2 ADs. However as I don't have TV I didn't saw the animated ones, I got the 'inspiration' for the style/pace from the poster ADs.
Later on I was able to watch a TV AD, and what I saw was that the bubbles were moving very fast, it was hard to see the beauty of it. So I was glad to keep going with the project doing it in a slow paced way.

(pouet.net admins - a preview/edit feature would be great, and isn't hard to do (I would do the code for you if you want))

rainmaker: oh, and you're more or less bang on target about dead ringer, too :D the original inspiration for the street-styled stuff was a whole bunch of psyop videos. :) (not just the one you posted)
But hey! better getting the inspiration from there than from other demos :P
exactly. :D
if one wanted to post a link to all the glo/particles/envmap prods that stole from each other, or all the lines/points/boxes/fractals prods that stole from paul bourke's page, we'd be here all day. :)

So true. You would have to post thousands of Pouet links ;)
Here's one of ours:

I confess to visiting Paul Bourke. And Mathworld. And an exhibition in The Finnish Museum of Modern Art which had some pieces that became the primary inspiration for Traction
hehehe.. I like how this turned from a reporting thread to a confession thread :)
OMG NO! ALL DEMOS MUST BE ORIGINAL! T_T

the beginning of Autechre's Basscadet video is very similair to the beginning of x-mix 2004 ;)
Desimal. rip!
get this straight. copying something to create something creative to share: ok, copying something to create something which makes money (advertising or such): shait.
A while ago I think I could hear demo tunes in every second song I heard on the radio, but of course, you can't really proove it...

demoscene musicians just tend to rip off popmusic :)

That reaaaaaaaaalllly pisses me off. Such a blatant rip.
lol
I think that if you rip, at least give proper credits to the original makers OR make it so much better that it's not ripping anymore...
