i've fallen in love with the vic-20 after watching "orb" (and listening to orbtrax over and over again) :)
strange that "unexpanded" demos won't run in vice if i configure it to have a memory expansion... is that the case with the real vic too?

not cheap (uh) but FYI: iPhone SDK Beta 4 is out with OpenGL support.
so iPhone´ll get a Demo-Platform soon,i´m pretty sure..! with OpenGL its just too easy to port sth.!

amiga or maybe speccy - the creativity in speccy scene is unmatched IMO.
Yeah Speccy, gotta admire what they can get out of a platform that is so much more limited than C64.

linde: yes (its got to do how the vic20 moves around the start of basic when memory expansion are there)
btw, there is a legend the vic20 uses so many, small ram chips, because commodore had an oversupply of them at the time the vic20 was designed...

Atari Mega ST 2 for 0€ from the trash one week ago!
funny that, friend of mine works at a local dump and someone was dumping a perfect A500. Manuals were in mint condition. Gave it a quick clean up, (no yellow keys either.)
I also got a C64 that lighted up one time, then not again....but the Mega was dirty everywhere, but with 2 Harddisks, 2 monitors and everything, it booted up perfectly.
Great find, people just don't know what they're throwing away these days.
