i think ppl have been waiting for a decent demoparty in a country where you can get legally stoned to death before the democompo starts for quite a while now ^^

and then god create a non-archaic platform demoparty in holland again! and it was good!

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole multi colored collection of uppers, downers, laughers, screamers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon.

too bad there aren't any coffeeshops near the partyplace, closest is ~20km.. so better visit one on your way there ;)

oh im sure someone will manage to bring enough ^^

im supposed to be attempting to remain sober actually.
but maybe i'll have forgotten about the motives that had lead me into ever even considering it by end of july. one can only hope. ^^

Hmm, I was just checking the demozone rules and it says nothing about drugs, but this one is ehrm, strange, I think:

3. No fighting, kissing allowed.

Maybe they've seen Nosfe's sceneboy-love site? :-)

i'll read the whole thread tomorrow, and answer any questions regarding the party that may have popped up (i just got back from a nice holiday in spain)

egbert: how about scoring some free "oldskool" tickets for sceners at demozone ;)

I must sadly report that there will be no (or hardly any) chance for cheaper tickets for sceners or for l33t oldschoolers or for people coming from far. The ticket prices is probably the very area where we can be least flexible of all, because a Demozone ticket is in fact equal to a Campzone ticket by means of access to facilities, areas and basically everything that costs money. As such, Campzone define our prices. We'd like this to work differently, but at least for this year we can't.

However, please do note that if you pay your ticket in advance, before the 15th of june, you can get a reasonable discount, making the ticket cost only 42,50 euros.

By the way... I registered before 15-5-2005, and so I would have to pay 37.50 EURO... but I never received any emails?! So where to pay it? Directly on the party place?

skrebble: thats pretty impossible to happen, have no credit card that the internet will accept to pay with. cant even pre-pay se ticket either. :) blargh, parties that force foreigners to pay in advance are fucking lame.

Well actually it prolly will work out for you it's just a bit wierd right now.

It just prolly will work out.
freeze, i think you were supposed to pay by bank before that date, otherwise the higher rate applies (not 100% sure tho, i don't prepay but will buy daily tickets upon arrival)

Damn I see... but where to transfer the money to? And... how would they recognize it's me?
added on the 2005-05-19 12:35:27 by freeze freeze
freeze, you should've indeed gotten an e-mail. probably something is wrong with our registration system, i'll make sure it gets looked into.

also, we'd of course recognise it's you because of the transfer description that says it's you. and you name. and the town. etcetera.

ps: i used to share that very opinion. however, IBAN has nothing to do with credit cards. it's just like any other bank transfer except that it has a bit of a longer bank account number and probably a slightly different form to fill it in. also, if you can guarantee me that you're coming, then we'll not find it a big problem to reserve a cheaper ticket for you (not a thing we can just do for everyone, else all this would be a lot easier. it just that i know you well).

everyone who registered: i'll see to it that you'll get informed asap.

for any more personal questions please email us at info(AUF)demozone(PISTE)nl, but those who already registered should hear from us soon.

skrebbel, the problem is that bank transfers are not that regular at all in many countries.. :( visitors outside holland, the german speaking countries and scandinavia are not unlikely to pay rates that seem ridiculous to us, sometimes even for transfers within their own country.

the best alternative (imho) is paypal.. but whatever you do, DO NOT USE CHEQUES... i repeat... DO NOT USE CHEQUES... to be more specific, unless you fancy paying ~15 euros in fees, DO NOT USE CHEQUES... i hope that was clear ;)

ok, thanks for clearing that one out :)

well, to make it all clear: we're not *all* that uptight, so if IBAN is no serious option for you, then we're more than willing to get you a cheaper ticket in advance, but only if you can somehow convince us that you're *really* coming (we're actually -personally- buying the ticket from the big mean campzone organisation lot, so we'd like the money back)

Thanks skrebbel. :)

But still no email has arrived my place yet. Drop me one please so I can pay the fee asap. :)

What the heck? I received an email from Codemasters about the CampZone 2005 in Dutch, and is says I should transfer money to their bank account?!
added on the 2005-05-20 19:57:08 by freeze freeze
well demozone takes place on the campzone terrain..

is the amount correct at least?

Skrebbel: I'm also still waiting for my e-mail.

BTW, can I pay with cheques?

egbert: actually at 40e to get in, im seriously considering not entering demozone despite beeing in holland at the time. not to diss your efforts or anything, but i really dont see the point in paying 40e for 3 demos and 20 sceners, specially when the sceners can easily come outside and join us in a bar..

whats the prizemoney for the compos?
added on the 2005-05-21 11:33:14 by psenough psenough
ps, ok well, i've sort of had it with trying to get demosceners to attend a fucking demoparty.

the only way for us to get that price down is to go away from campzone and have a party with a lot less features and crappier partyplace. and even then this is not what we want, because one of the main ideas of demozone is promoting the demoscene towards the whole computer subculture (something that the dutch demoscene really needs).

if that money is too much for you, then sorry, that's just how much things cost in holland. i'd like to underline that there's no bars, or even anything like a town, on walking distance from demozone (but plenty entertainment at the partyplace!)

prizes will most probably be hardware, but we'll probably never be sure until short before the party. at least i'm rather sure it'll not be 5 euros or something :) (though imho you shouldn't be entering a compo for the prizes anyway)
