Eurotunnel now booked for myself, CiH and Gasman, let the good times roll once again :)

So it looks like the battle on the bigscreen between me and Superplek is taking shape. I'm quite confident I'll get my release done in time. To illustrate the friendliness of the battle and the (probably) sunny atmosphere of Outline I decided againt doing a head-on dissdemo with gabber so I'll be taking a more cinematic/chill down approach. My new job confirmed the days off so I'm looking forward to it!

Yay, looks like this is gonna be my first outline!
I'm wondering whether I should bring my Atari STe + b/w screen. Should still be in working order. Never got beyond writing "text adventures" as a 10yr old in Omikron Basic though, afterwards I pretty much switched to PC. Maybe someone at the party would be willing to introduce me to "what I can actually do with the thing", and maybe provide some fresh disks? :)

Shader Showdown @ Outline 2018

They started it at WeCan, then Revision expanded the concept, and now Outline is the first demoparty to host an official Shader Showdown qualification tournament!

What can you expect? 25 minutes live 1-on-1 shader coding battles in a tournament format, in which the coders use nothing but their keyboard, skills and memory, with audio support by an experienced dj, hosting by Okkie, voting by the crowd, and officiating by the same team that also manages the compo at Revision.

So far we have received enough responses to be sure that a tournament with 2 rounds is possible. We'd like to expand this further, so if you'd like to join the competition, please drop us a line at info@outlinedemoparty.nl

jco: Welcome! I'm quite busy with organizing the party but I can at least bring you some fresh warez, and there's a bunch more Atari folks attending as per tradition, so I'll be happy to hook you up with the experts :)

havoc: cool, tnx! not so much in need of warez though, more in need of someone who introduces me to "what your atari can do and how to do it" in general. but I'm confident I'll figure that out during the party, it's gonna be fun :D

Thanks for the infos havoc! Looks like we've found something in Giethoorn that matches the requirements. I've completed the registration on the web site and transferred the requested amount via bank transfer. So finally I can start working on the release.

The schedule for the catering food is official now \o/ On Thursday we'll enjoy a Chinese/Indonesian buffet supplied by Shanghai restaurant from Steenwijk. On Friday, mr. Maat from Willemsoord will serve traditional Dutch mashed potatoes dishes with accompanying meats. And on Saturday, Frisianrent's Hapkar from De Blesse serves unlimited fries, burgers, sausages and other deepfry delights.

All these meals are part of the 95 euro ticket with food option included, if you bought a ticket without food and want to upgrade contact us via info(..)outlinedemoparty.nl :)

Some news items from the mainorga's desk on this sunny Sunday afternoon in Holland:

1. Please don't forget to register on our site if you plan to attend the party! It's not obligatory but think about it, do you really want to spell out your full name to our presumably rather drunk bar staff, or would you rather tackle that issue from the comfort of your home, right now? :)
2. If you're only attending a single day, it still makes sense to register yourself on our site for the above reason, and also because we'll be able to inform you where you can park your car, when we run out of computer places, or any other relevant news that won't become available until shortly before or during the party weekend.
3. The compo pc specs are confirmed to be:

Just wondering, is there anyone going back to Germany after the party by car with one seat free? I'm interested in getting to Germany on my way to Poland so most of the places will do. I'll have a relatively small bag and a small backpack. I can either engage in a conversation or stay quiet, depending on the driver's request. I'll also contribute towards the petrol.

Time is a human construct. Looking forward to the competition. Are you already making progress? Don't forget I started this demo from scratch as soon as you told me the game was still on. Before that I was working on a completely different demo. So if you are still working on the one we we discussed initially that will mean you have 2 months or headstart. I'm dedicating as much spare time as I have towards this release, but we both work fulltime so the playing field is completely leveled on the time aspect if I'm not mistaken?

Anyway:You're a lovely guy as well. Oh and rumors has it we're not the only one competing. So let's say whoever scores the highest place in the reults wins ok?
