just a neutral observation :

SLI is 10 year old (brought by 3dfx), and it has already been sold by nvidia for 3 years til now, but the demoscene is still wondering about using it or not...


... which i totally understand as i'm not rich or mad enough to waste money into a SLI config like the great majority, and as many software and driver problems related to SLI have been reported.


anyway kudos to the breakpoint posse to put new technology standards ahead :)

it's not that the demoscene is wondering about using it... it's that almost noone but hardcore crysis gamers actually HAVE such a rig...

plus SLI requires a lot of tweaking on the app AND driver sides to actually deliver.

still, 1080p is a pretty big lump to chew on - we'll take what we can get. :)

at least the beamer infoscreens will be sharp! :D

New technology standards would be Direct3D 10. That's the thing I miss most this year.

imbusy: You can have all the D3D10 you want in the Real Wild compo, which is the right place for obscure hardware and/or OSs. Or you simply use OpenGL ;)

Wtf are you on about? Obscure hardware? Certainly not. Crap OS? Yes, but not obscure.

I think Vista is a rather obscure OS.. so far I've seen only one in the wild...
