noby: do you have a photo of what the compo hall will be? i'm unfamiliar with the messukeskus.

I say this because on the website it is the room that lists the highest occupancy number, 4373. Only the corridors list more, and they're well, corridors.
I don't actually know how exactly Messukeskus will be, I was only talking about my slight dissatisfactions with Hartwall Areena in the past :), but I have high hopes for the new arrangement.
Metoikos that's the hall where Assembly '95 and '96 were held (hall 1) until it got too small. '97 and '98 were in hall 6 iirc, which is humongous, but doesn't sadly have the same kind of layout.
While looking at pictures of old Assembly's I'm just gonna leave this here..

uncle-x i guess the current scene is small enough to fit inside hall 1. Okkie, if i recall correctly messukeskus has a hesburger too.

Branch current scene yes, current assembly, unlikely...
uncle-x let's say the compos were shown at hall 1 and 6. then most of the assembly visitors(gamers and such) will stay in their computer places in hall 6(right?) and mainly just sceners will go watch the compo in the hall 1 to get the best demoscene experience.
And thus endeth both "guageee!" and the possibility of gamers being exposed to the scene stuff.
preacher, i'm not saying that. gamers would still have to be exposed to the scene but at the not so suitable for demo viewing hall 6.

Quaket vittuun is just briiliant, a part of the Assembly experience, IMO.

i see interesting pattern here.
most of the foreigners were excited about hartwall arena, and are somehow sad that it's moved to the new venue, hardly imagining that anything can be better.
on the other hand, locals are pleased that it's moved to the messukeskus.
finns, what are we missing here? is it really better venue, or is it just a nostalgia for the past times?
