What is PETSCII - A guide for compo orgas

a couple of facts that you do not seem to be aware of:
a) i wasn't at deadline this year and have only spoken with orgas of that party regarding delays, and certainly not about the picture that got your panties twisted so badly
b) i have actually participated in the deadline textmode compo in the past- with a teletext picture, to be precise- which never was in the compo's name but allowed anyway- so it has been a general textmode compo for longer than just this year
c) i've made images in VT52, ascii, ansi and petscii formats in the past, so i do actually happen to know wtf i am talking about, and certainly do not need permission from you or anyone else to have an opinion about this issue
d) playscii is not random bitmaps, if you want to make a valid comparison it should be closer to "the fantasy console of textmode graphics"
because to speak frankly, you seem to insist on some exotic oldfartery.

Now, if you are really interested in the subject, and want to know why I call this a bitmap, what you can do is go over to CSDb https://csdb.dk/release/?id=246524 and download the C64 executable. Then you can ask a C64 friend of yours to analyze it. Or you can do it yourself, since you seem to “actually happen to know” a lot of stuff. Tell us what you find. Is it text mode? Or is it HiRes gfx mode?

The entry itself (or rather the author) claimed it was PETSCII. It was entered as PETSCII into compo as anyone can see on Deadline YouTube recording. That’s what matters. Not crap you invent to bend over backwards in order to “win” some imagined “fight” going on solely in your head.

Haha, that this "playscii" thing is described as an "ASCII Art" editor by people is mind boggling. Not an edge case at all, unless you ignore what "ASCII Art" or even "Textmode" is.
Just to clear up some things about my entry to Deadline (Depth-Logo)....
It was made in Playscii and uploaded as such fileformat. It also said so in the description if i remember correctly.
I have a huge respect for the guys making real petscii and such.
This BBS-post and recent one-liners gave me both the inspiration and know-how to start a new piece. For this, my sincere thanks! This time in 100% certified PETSCII.
Working title is "Troll".
