Fuck, I hope this is meant as some kind of satire. This has the potential to destroy it. It's not art. It's more like artisan craftwork, a huge difference, or rather something new and different entirely. But why bother with terms and classification, go on if you want it to end like state subsidized, paid for by taxes deep frozen shit like opera.

What has publicity to do with being only available at a museum?

Just one example, and it was the first that Wikipedia had listed: German choirs are Cultural Heritage since 2014. I didn't notice any changes there, like them only performing in big venues only.

And it is an integral part of the demoscene that "our art" is available for free (or at least the software part).

Painting may have "black square", but demoscene has "grey screen with no music". And I'm fairly sure Opera has its own similar thing, even though I'm not familiar enough with it

Oh and btw, French gastronomy is also on the cultural heritage list. And we French can still go out and eat junk food if we want to, don't worry!

Unesco is a joke.. like the un wil ever care about the cracking scene or any other underground and illegal computerscene ..

Usually these processes of making something as intangible cultural heritage starts from the people involved in the culture. So maybe you can start the application process yourself? :)
