Why/what links are dead?
might be the same cause like with the others (the 2o2o uploads), i do not know. but since i just finished uploading everything it should be all good.
Scamp: Not just the 2020 uploads. The older file that I've re-uploaded is an ADF for Fucking Raster Time by Fifth Generation. That's October 2019. Some files that I uploaded on July were not missing.
Hope this helps.
Hope this helps.
scamp: i had a directory called "electron" in here with a bunch of old prods in it, it's all gone now
Once again: There is no need to panic. I repeat: THERE IS NO NEED TO PANIC!!!!1
The old storage server is in the office, and tomorrow I'll find out WTF went wrong on synching, and then I'll re-sync and get this fixed.

I also noticed on the weekend that some files on untergrund linked from Pouet are not available, eg. ftp://untergrund.net/users/havoc/POUET/pc/Keygen20Template20200720(2007)(Razor201911)(Win32)(Keygen).zip
(from this prod: https://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=30024)
Annnnd, I'll join the crowd, one of my recently uploaded files is gone too.
ok, that's enough filenames to verify nothing is missing anymore after the resync :)
I'll just paste the newsletter I've just sent out to all users here:
Quote:
Hi there,
last weekend we've completed the first step of our migration to a new
generation of servers.
All files in your pubftp directory are now on a new storage server,
which is connected to the Internet with 20 GBit/s.
PLEASTE NOTE that during the synchronization between the old storage
server and the new one something went wrong, so files uploaded after
October 2019 seem to be mostly missing. The files are NOT lost, and
there is no need to re-upload them. We will resync between the old and
new server during the next two days, afterwards all files should be
back.
Please also note that ftp://ftp.untergrund.net is now pointing directly to
the storage server, and is allowing anonymous FTP downloads only. To
upload your files, please use ftp://youraccountname.untergrund.net.
The new storage server has virtually unlimited of space. However, this
right now only maps to your pubftp directory. The pubhtml directory is
still on the old server, where the storage is nearly full. So please:
Do not host your binary files inside the pubhtml directory, but only
inside pubftp.
As FTP is a bit out of fashion, instead of linking to
ftp://ftp.untergrund.net/accountname/file.zip you can instead also
link to https://ftp.untergrund.net/accountname/file.zip.
In the next couple of weeks we'll be working on setting up a whole new
generation of untergrund.net hosting, adding tons of services.
v3nom: Please note that besides the files currently being missing, you should not link this way.
The correct way to link to files in your pubftp directly is:
ftp://ftp.untergrund.net/users/havoc/...
or
https://ftp.untergrund.net/users/havoc/...
Right now ftp://untergrund.net or ftp://accountname.untergrund.net still works, but I wish to discontinue this at some point.

(and the links in the newsletter above where missing the /users/ part, sorry)
Great to see that HTTPS is now also supported :)
scamp: Hm, I suspect this mail may have been sent to an address I no longer have access to. Luckily I still have my ftp password but is there any possibility of changing my email address?
The story behind the missing files is... weird.
In general I have a very bad memory, but this case is extreme:
It turns out that back in September 2019, we went to the data center, installed a new storage server, and I then migrated all the data remotely, and then I moved over to using the new storage server. The old storage server was left in the rack.
Now, when we did the migration last week, I had completely forgotten about that. I wasn't aware of the existence of the "new" storage server, so iwe migrated from the old storage server to the "new new", instead of from the "new" one to the "new new" one.
We now are syncing the missing files from back in September from the "new" server to the "new new" one. Should be done in a couple of hours.

Glad to see everything fixed. Many thanks, Scamp!
I second that, everything is fine again, thanks for fixing the problem, Scamp.
Sync has completed. Is anyone still missing any file?
@scamp: i still missing my password. please contact me at mch8580 x gmail.com
Well, if possible for me too - ggnkua [curly symbol] gmail.com for user ggn
ggn: your registered mail address is ggn@hol.gr. Can you still access this? If you have both forgotten your password and lost access to your mail, I will need some other proof that you are you.
mch: Same for you - you are registered as czop50@wp.pl
El Topo: please upload wurst.txt to your pubftp and gimme a link to it. I'll then change your mail address.
@scamp i send you email from czop50@wp.pl to hostmaster <hostmaster@untergrund.net> as a proof, thank you.
