chaos constructions 2013, 10-11 of august

category: parties [glöplog]
So, after much consideration and discussion at Revision we have decided to set the party dates to weekend after Assembly, this way we won't conflict with evoke or demodays (and will be able to attend them ourselves ;) and more importantly enable people to come to us right after Assembly this year.

All compos will take place on 10th and 11th of august, party place will be open from friday night. Opening ceremony is on midday saturday followed by compo blocks, saturday and sunday night we'll have some DJs and perhaps live acts. Sunday program starts around midday as well and ends with closing ceremony around 23:00, however there will be more music until monday morning.

This year all our slides will be English based, announcements on PA will be in english and infodesk will be able to explain anything in english or make you understand enough russian :)

There will be working bar and kitchen, that means vodka and herring or beer and sushi, it's up to you )

Sleeping will be possible on the premises, we also have some initial agreement with low cost hotel nearby, for those who want a little peace and quiet.

Also, for those who can't make it, remote entries are allowed.

Last years we had about 500 visitors, we hope to increase that number this year. Our record was 1500 in 2006, let's see if we can get close )

We will provide invitation letters to all who need it and there will be an english speaking helpline to help those who need it. Website with english rules is coming this spring.

We will be happy to see you at our party this year.

Don't miss your chance to see beautiful St.Petersburg this summer, right after Assembly.

I believe this is what we call "an offer I can't refuse". Looks like an epic train+ferry round trip is going to feature in my life this summer :-)

Jesus, I thought CC was a small party. 500 visitors? :O

I might consider attending...

Yes, there are number of ways to get from helsinki to st.petersburg, there are planes, ferries, trains and even budget buses that run several times a day for 20 euro!

Actually there are ferries that go all the way from lubeck as well, but they take awhile, but you can take a car with you and drive around on great russian roads lol

going to chaos consctuctions to get your pants off!
seems like august could be a real demoparty month and nice trip throughout the europe - assembly, cc, evoke, demodays each going one weekend after another...

@CC Organizers:
One good tip to get Finns to the party would be actually to have a "party bus" organized from Hki. Unfortunately many of those 20e bus trip organizers want to only speak Russian and I don't know many Finns who are fluent with the language.

If some CC organizer could order a bus and get prepayments from Finns there probably would be a chance to get many Finns to the party. :)

nosfe: sorry to hear about your troubles at Revision.

bring your friends to russia as well, let's party :)

Do you need a visa if you go from Finland by bus?
added on the 2013-04-08 09:54:26 by Preacher Preacher
@Preacher: To my knowledge yes. Only way to not require a visa would be to use ferry.

thinking about it aswell

Looks like a very enticing offer this year. I'd really love to come :)

And I would go like a Peter Pan - on a FAIRY, heheheh.

Well, LVD mentioned about the Russian ZX parties but he meant Di:Halt at the time being.
I will ask him, what is closer and we will see.
sounds like a party!! \o/
(not to mention that evoke is a weekend after that, so if organised properly, this can be turned into demoscene megaparty \o/ )

anyway, ferry or no ferry, where visa is required, it's always a bad idea to be in that country without a visa. :)) that said, I don't see a problem getting one. we know it on time, and randomi offered to write us a letter of invitation that always ease a process of getting a visa.

also, as waffle suggested, I like a idea of a party bus from helsinki to st. petersburg, it's only a matter which day we're going to be going "over". i, for starter, definitely won't fly back home and then come few days later. (and would like to spend few extra days in helsinki anyway)

so, which one of the locals are volunteering to help organise the party bus? :)))
(not that a party boat would be even more fun!!)

dihalt might be a little too hard for european scener, but i would definitely try to go there myself as usual. i just hope weather will be nice and camping under open air will be an enjoyable this year :)

Bus is great idea, what date would suit the majority of people? Friday, 9th of August, around midday?

I need a volunteer from Helsinki with bus license )

waffle, using those 20e buses is quite easy without understanding russia, just give the driver 20e.
added on the 2013-04-08 13:05:04 by nosfe nosfe
but of course a bustrip together with sceners would be most awesome!
added on the 2013-04-08 13:05:55 by nosfe nosfe
also, we could probably pick up some sceners after ASM, after prize ceremony.

We will definitely organize a party bus but we would need to know your preference for a certain date.
So please leave a post!
Anyway for now Friday midday or so seems like a nice option since it's about 5 to 8 hours trip (if you are lucky on the border)

Don't EVER arrange a bustrip along with fellow sceners. You'll wind up having fun all the way, arriving moderately drunk, being dropped off right at the entrance door of the party and be comfortably transported all the way back home after the party without any hassle at all on your own part.

Been there done that! PANTS OFF! :D

punqtured: you're neglecting to mention a lot of the wonderful hangover and puke stories.

Based on my experience from 2004 (which went something like: arrive in Russia, EXTREME BEWILDERMENT AND CULTURE SHOCK, demoparty day 1, MORE BEWILDERMENT AND CULTURE SHOCK, demoparty day 2, leave) - my preference would be to travel earlier (perhaps immediately after the end of Assembly, or the day after) and spend a few days experiencing St Petersburg. I realise that my perspective will be different from a Helsinki resident who isn't in it for an extended holiday, though...

gasman, randomi told up there that they might be able to pick up some sceners after ASM, that could be perfect for you?

for me traveling on friday would probably make most sense, though i'm thinking that if i go to spb i should play a concert there, need to talk with friends who organize gigs there...

hey, gasman, you did go to hidden party at CC 2004, right? how cool was that? :)
