You can go by ferry actually!
And as the friendly infoteam-member I am, I even tell you how:
Just make sure you go down the Rhein, at Bingen you go further down the Rhein until Koblenz where you go left down the Mosel until you cross the Saar, which you can follow until Saarbrücken. Et voilá! You can even dock your ferry in just 50m distance to the partyplace. ;)
