Looking for Demoparty organizers

category: parties [glöplog]

Hey there!

I'm looking for demoparty organizers. I have some questions to make about the organization process. If you are a demoparty organizer or have a contact that would like to share, please mail me at danguafer@silexars.com

Thanks in advance!

1. Get your power strait !! Nobody wants to visit a party if you go black. Ask sceners who went to Denmark ;)
2. Get your entrance fee strait. If you run low on budget, you'll only do one party.
3. Get people who will work with you and you can trust. Nobody likes to sit at the front desk working, when others are at the party, but it has to be done.
4. Make sure you don't disturb others at your party location. You don't want cops to shut the place down.
5. Do the rest... Big screen, Toiletts, Showers, Beer & Boose, etc...

The party is already being organized. I've got many useful and active people to work with me.
The questions are about sponsorship. :)

The first question is: How much money does the big companies usually (Intel, AMD, nVidia, etc...) provides to a demoparty?
The second question: The party will occur in 3 months. Is there enough time to ask them for sponsorship?
The third and last question: I'm very interested in asking companies somewhat related to the scene or other demoparties for sponsorship. Does anyone know someone that might want to support us?

And I'd like to answer a question in advance: Why am I asking help the european demoscene's help? It's simply because the brazilian demoscene is growing. Receiving the strength of the european demoscene somehow would help it to be spread more easily through here.

I dont' know how much an Intel, AMD or others would give you for a party, but always keep in mind that they what something in return. Sponsoring isn't because they like you. The companys marketing department it trying to reach for new customers. If they belive that's possible by giving you money for a party, you win. Big enterprises have their budget usually planed a year ahead, so I doubt you'll make a cut there. I'd suggest you look for some local IT Shops. They have lower budgets, but are more flexible with sponsoring and it might be easier to convince them of the benefits of sponsoring your party.
