Wanted - music (PSG/AY-3-891/YM2149) for demo

I'm working on my first demo for MSX (targeting MSX1, but it will ofcourse run on MSX2 etc. as well).
It would be nice to have some music for it. I'm not all that knowledgeable about sound hardware and music replay, but thanks to some recommendations from Hitchhiker, I have managed to get a "Protracker 3" replay-routine going (this one: PT3.7 replay).
Apparantly you can compose tracks for it using Vortex Tracker
I'm looking for a nice 'chippy' demo-like tune that sounds like music (ie. not so much dissonant experimental noise stuff).
I don't know how much the hardware makes a difference, but I will be calling the player routine @ 50Hz (PAL) and the sound chip will be either a AY-3-8910 (MSX1) or YM2149 (MSX2).
Anyone who can provide a tune? I don't mind if it has been released before, but it would be nice if it at least hasn't been used in a demo before.

If you can't get an original track, there's an archive with a bunch of Speccy tunes you can read (and convert to PT3) with VT2.

Nice tracker. Seems that only export in pt3 format. Is that format 100% compatible with PT3.7 replay?
I'll try it a little bit tonight (and tomorrow). Don't promise anything, just like to play with AY-3-8910 sounds.

I refuse to make YM2149 tunes for any MSX demos. On the other hand, if you were making an ST demo, I'd be happy to oblige.
What format sould the YM-2149 tune be in ? sndh or .ym ?
And no sid voice i gues, only YM and buzzer ?

what a shame to the ym-musician guys, who've just gotten so good at making the ym sound cooler and less nintendo than ever. these chips can do a lot more cool things than just "chiptune" or "experimental noisecrap", it's just that somehow the c64 scene never figured that out.

Basicly they're the same chip.

It's enought to say that I make music for AY since 1991 and only THIS YEAR I discovered with some testing prog that actually I have YM2149 chip in my Spectrum, not AY, hahaha. :)
Anyway when I prepare tunes from AY into YM, I just change volumes slightly (a bit different volume tables) and the work is done.

The modules should be compatible (i think the replay can also replay 3.5 modules correctly as well).

The YM chip that is referred in the wikipedia article isn't the original PSG, it's an OPL3 one, a 2nd chip which was optional in msx2+ and included in the TurboR ones.

s-3527 ("msx engine") was made by yamaha, not philips (but it was used extensively in philips machines). besides (ym2149 compatible) soundchip functions, it also handles memory and keyboard/vdp interfacing.
