Question to Stockholm based sceners

category: general [glöplog]
hi!

I'm quite sure this thread will be pouetized soon, but anyway.

Does someone of the sweden (stockholm preferred) based sceners have a hint, how to get hands on a small flat/room (maybe for <= 400eur)? My gf will do an internship in Stockholm that is required for her studies from end of february 2008 to june 2008.
Problem is, that she does not actually study there and the internship is also not done via one of the many student exchange organizations, which means, that it's quite impossible to get a room in one of the student accomodations of the universities.
If someone has a hint or even a room offer (a serious one, that is) preferably drop me an email: styx_hcr (insert an AT here) gmx (insert a DOT here) de

thanks,

aaaahahaha a room in a "large" scandinavian city for 400euro. You couldnt buy cardboardbox and live under a tree in the park for that kind of money.

Maybe she kind find something in one of the more luxurious suburbs, like Hässelby or Rågsved :P

On a more serious note; the sublet market is probably her only hope if she doesn't want to buy an apartment or has, say 5-10 years to wait to get a first hand contract for a rental.

..also, "can" is usually spelled with a C and an A, and without a K, I or D.

what about 'joint-rental' (do you know the tv show 'Friends' ;) ? that's the way many students get rooms downtown, at least in France.

You can try finding a room to rent second hand from someone. But usually you need a friend who knows a friend who...

But good luck!

Might be worth looking for some house-share website, something like gumtree.co.uk
As people have said, in Stockholm rooms or shared places are the only option. She could look in the towns nearby also, it's possible to comute to Stockholm from places as far as Katrineholm within reasonable time.

joint-rental, shared flats and stuff - sure, way to go, that's the way also students live in germany. but that wasn't the question ;)
mic_ and a few others: links to websites for room rental stuff are also welcome, if you know good ones.
src: yes, a bit, but that's not for discussion here ;)

look for apartments in any university town and take what you can get... then there's always someone who wants to trade when school starts.
