xkcd :(
category: general [glöplog]
i have beef because a lot of people around me celebrate every xkcd day like its a special occasion, but i don't think the comic is that awesome anymore. it seems like its based on the same recurring themes - "nerds have sex sometimes" and "comics about programming are inherently cute". the map of the internet was well done, as were many of the comics, but i don't see how it earns it legendary status! its like nerdcore hiphop - it could be so awesome, but apart from a few acts, its guys with no rhythm fronting round and round about just how much they consider themselves geeky.
so i guess this is my wider beef - alternative geek culture? yeah RIGHT. seems like all you have to do is flash a programmable calculator and express your sensitive side for everybody to believe you're fresh out of MIT. it surprised me a bit when i stumbled over the scene that people don't act like that. turns out you can spend all day with computers and still be able to have a normal chat with someone over a beer.

(GOTO raptor was good)
I have beef (awesome wording btw) with random whoevers who start useless threads for every single random thought that goes through their heads.
meh, xkcd has it's moments, but there is only so much nerd related topics you can use. Oh, and nerdcore hiphop should be a punishable offense!
Unless ofcourse it's MC Steven Hawking! OK, maybe not :(
i have to agree with the opening post though.
fuck you all. XKCD is the best thing ever created by humanity.
that, and detroit techno.
that, and detroit techno.
Fedde Le Grand is a gigantic faggot.
And most girls with 'I *heart* nerds' t-shirts don't actually *heart* nerds at all.
...which is supposed to be countered with the tshirt that says "if i wear this shirt, maybe someone will like me" or something. doubt it works.
uncle-x has leading.
i concur.

Unless it's mc chris. But then again, except for 2 or 3 songs (and a couple of obscure videogame references) he has nothing to do with nerdcore hiphop anyway.
gloom - if i posted about every thought that goes through my head, every second post on the pouet BBS would be about your mum
forestcre has the leading!
tomaes: you got to be kidding me. mc chris made the fucking boba vett track! He is as nerdcore as fuck! I like Sealab 2021 though, so I give him a bit of grace, but his music is atrocious.
forestcre: as would mine.

I actually did not realize you were 15 y/o when we had a quick talk on irc. My bad. Or maybe it was another forestcre...
[OFFTOPIC] evil: fedde le grand ripped lyrics from matthew dear! and matthew dear at least back then lived in detroit. that song is just crap!
gloom + keops + EviL: the point i was making was that my first post wasn't just some blog entry as gloom implied. i meant it as a topic for discussion, and i thought it may be relevant to how some people here feel. i don't know gloom and at the time i was confident that people could correctly frame my response as humour before trying to take a stance.
this climate of banning has made legitimately meant posts look like spam just because they're from a nappy scener has two crappy tunes in a snd archive as opposed to 6 partybusting demos and 20 years of activity to his name. the reason i didn't write all ^-- this instead of making a slapstick humourous retort is because people don't want to see ^-- this sort of endless explaining and apologising in threads that are about something else. in between this substory, you'll notice we people actually started having some sort of discourse about the *topic at hand* - as advertised in the *first post*.

forectcre: I'm sure you can tell the difference between an idiot throwing random (sick) pictures in any thread and a guy opening threads to have a discussion or share something interesting, even if it's not demoscene related ;)
btw, my post was about your answer to Gloom, not about the former content of your thread ;)
