halo '0' system requirements higher than original halo

Who cares about games anyway?
There used to be discussions in some greek computer magazines about requirements and some obsessed people who said things like "Man, I am gonna get my 8088 and go up to the mountain to become a hermit!" or "I am never gonna change my 386, you are not gonna change me!!!". I REALLY loved reading these shit back then. I was as obsessed as they but I loved the oldschool stuff and my dream was to code miracles in slow PCs. Even before knowing the demoscene..
The diferrence in these people was that they didn't knew jack shit about programming and the technologies involved. They thought Quake 1 should require less than Myst simple because the graphics are less beautifull. Or someone wondered why you can see real life videos and special effects with explosions and neat stuff in movies on the TV but not on his PC (haha!). Right back then I wanted to communicate with club 8088 and gave them some demos, I wished to make my dream reality with them, to know the shit, to make a software house which codes optimized stuff that does miracles in old hardware, not just playing karateka on their XTs, but they didn't seemed to be impressed by demos, I think I didn't get any answer about these stuff :( Someone said that even demos make fun of his lame hardware, "Get a Pentium you Jerk!" they said ;)
Now, imagine a part of these gamers who are sometimes arguing about game requirements, to try coding actually a game for the first time. Ugh..

The problem is that they are happy with that.
What I noticed is that there are some tags you can pin on software which, in some eyes, kindof invalidates claims that point out mistakes. (In other words, "it doesnt suck because..." Tags like:
- Opensource/GPL.
- Multiplatform.
- Oldskool.
- "Fun"
And so on.

how can you be against fun!
gargaj, one word: Nexuiz
- OpenSource/GPL
- Multiplatform
- Oldskool (Quake1 Engine)
- Fun
AND IT ROCKS HARD!

...and they didn't accept my bugreport... :(
v3nom, I don't think he meant that all software with those tags necessarily sucked, just that software can get away with sucking by attaching those tags.
For example:
mario kart is fun, oldskool, and multiplatform, but doesn't suck.
fuck, why am I posting this? I should be getting hosed at the company xmas party.

One word: ZE BLAST!!!
cool graphics though

And what are you going to do there, chat up the cool chicks with your mariokart fetish? :)
Can you legitimately say Tetris (I mean, Tetrominoes) doesn't suck if it's one of the Hugi Sizecoding versions that has the entire game in like, 256 bytes?
if it's fun, it does not suck.
otherwise, we should mail pipebombs with the image of Jazz the Jackrabbit attached to the developers claiming 6fps for a lame platformer is good performance on a 1.5GHz machine, and can not be improved...

shame of the year :)
come on! if a _real_ programmer use only GDI32.LIB with not optimised code it should run on a p1 :(((

You should think outside the box.
and the game: http://www.halozero.new.fr/
inopia: yeah, the 2d art was the best thing.
shifter: nah, I'll just tell them that I'm oldskool and fun and then they'll love me no matter what.

they're just trying to make you fix their computer for free
