... how about throwing away the "invitation" category completely and categorizing the prods as demo/intro/whatever_they_really_are? I think this would make more sense.

and while we're at it.. omg wtf, "Acorn Demo" is missing in the compo table, plz khtxbye!

well lets just keep another value "description" or something. So one can point out that prod is type=intro description=invitation
or typ=demo description=cracktro

i think as for now, pouet database is fucked up pretty much cause when you check some production entry you dont know anything about its approximated size ( unless its 64k or 32k or 256b or whatever ).
prod type semantics include both "size" and "content type" but as long as you can choose only one type, actual meaning is pretty random. ( oh i'm sorry for my crappy english, hope you got it )

as for me i's better to add somekindof additional prod characteristic ( see my previous post ).
yes, it's hard to update whole database but new productions will have detailed and correct characteristics

More seriously, I really like the invit category. Sometimes I even browse it to watch some old random invit (350+ prods in that category!).

The real problem is (imo): a 512b/4k/64k/etc invitation can only be found in either the XX kb category OR in the invitation category, not in both.
A special tag for it would be cool, but I guess we'll drive PS crazy if we ask him to do that... he already did a lot recently ;)

how about implementing pouet v2 somewhere, using another db-design and just dump the pouet v1 data into the new one? :)

Yes, a remade dbdesign with a proper databaseengine would be a good idea. It shouldnt take TOO long either... But its booring work and i dont think anyone is really up for it, atleast not amongst the people who maintain this site.
